How did the
universe
begin?
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God
created the heavens and the
earth.
Gen 2:1-2 Thus the heavens and
the earth were completed, and
all their hosts. 2 By the seventh
day God completed His work
which He had done, and He
rested on the seventh day from
all His work which He had done.
How old is
the earth?
Age of the Earth
Observe the following information in chart form. Speaking in round
figures, from the present to Jesus is 2,000 years (a matter of
historical record that no one doubts) From Jesus to Abraham is
2,000 years; that, too, is a matter of historical record which is well
known. Each of those figures is extractable from secular history.
Present to Jesus = 2,000 years
Jesus to Abraham = 2,000 years
Abraham to Adam = ? years
The only figure now lacking is that representing the date from
Abraham to Adam. Since we know that Adam was the first man (1
Cor. 15:45), and since we know that man has been on the Earth
“from the beginning of the creation” (Mk 10:6, the Lord speaking;
Rom. 1:20-21, Paul speaking), if it were possible to obtain the
figures showing how long it has been from Abraham to Adam, we
would have chronological information giving us the relative age of
the Earth (since we know that the Earth is only five days older than
man (Ex. 20:11; 31:17; Gen 1-2)
Age of the Earth
In Luke’s genealogy, he listed 55 generations between Jesus and
Abraham. We know from secular history as documented by
archaeology. that this time frame covered only about 2,000 years.
Between Abraham and Adam, Luke listed only twenty generations.
And no one doubts that from the present to Jesus has been about
2,000 years.
So, our chart now looks like this:
Present to Jesus = 2,000 years
Jesus to Abraham = (55 generations) = 2,000 years
Abraham to Adam = (20 generations) = ? years
From this chronological information it is an easy matter to use the
20 generations from Abraham to Adam to determine the
approximate number of years contained therein. In round
numbers, the figure is 2,000. That completes the chart, which then
appears as follows:
Present to Jesus 2,000 years
Jesus to Abraham (55 generations) 2,000 years
Abraham to Adam (20 generations) 2,000 years
Age of The Earth
On occasion, the comment is overheard, “But the Earth looks so
old.” There are at least two responses that might be made to such
a statement. First, one might ask: “Compared to what; what does a
young Earth look like?” Who among us has anything with which to
compare? Second, we should not be surprised if certain methods
in science appear to support the idea of an ancient Earth. Why?
The answer lies in what has been called the “doctrine of apparent
age”
How old were Adam and Eve two seconds after their creation?
They were two seconds old. How old were the plants and animals
two seconds after their creation? They were two seconds old. But
how old did all these two-seconds-old people, plants, and animals
look like they were? It is important to realize that the initial
creation had two ages - a literal age, and an apparent age. It
literally may have been just one day old, two days old, three days
old, and so on. But it appeared to be much older.

YOU BET YOUR SWEET BIPPY, IT DOES!
The Sun is Shrinking at a constant rate
The moon is moving farther away
Carbon 14 dating has shown that radiocarbons have
existed for only less than 10,000 years
• The nickel content of the Ocean (which comes from
cosmic dust) show an Earth younger than 9,000
years.
• March 19, 1982 mudflows created a “little Grand
Canyon” 1/40th of the size of GC in one day.
Does Science Support A Young Earth?
• The Earth’s magnetic field is deteriorating at a constant
rate.
• Measured rates of helium loss from zircon show that
the helium has been leaking for only 6000 years
• Not enough stone age skeletons - 100,000 years should
have nearly four billion skeletons
• Agriculture is too recent – After 100,000 years none of
the 4 billion people developed agriculture. 5000yr
• History is too short – writing developed around 40005000 years ago. (out of 100,000 years)
Does Science Support A Young Earth?
• According to astronomical observations, galaxies
like our own experience about one supernova (a
violently-exploding star) every 25 years. The gas and
dust remnants from such explosions (like the Crab
Nebula) expand outward rapidly and should remain
visible for over a million years. Yet the nearby parts
of our galaxy in which we could observe such gas
and dust shells contain only about 200 supernova
remnants. That number is consistent with only
about 7,000 years worth of supernovas
Does Science Support A Young Earth?
• Natural radioactivity, mutations, and decay degrade DNA
and other biological material rapidly. Measurements of the
mutation rate of mitochondrial DNA recently forced
researchers to revise the age of “mitochondrial Eve” from a
theorized 200,000 years down to 6,000 years. DNA experts
insist that DNA cannot exist in natural environments longer
than 10,000 years, yet intact strands of DNA appear to
have been recovered from fossils allegedly much older:
Neandertal bones, insects in amber, and even from
dinosaur fossils.Bacteria allegedly 250 million years old
apparently have been revived with no DNA damage. Soft
tissue and blood cells from a dinosaur have astonished
experts.
Does Science Support A Young Earth?
• Comets are supposed to be the same age as the
solar system Yet each time a comet orbits close to
the sun, it loses so much of its material that it could
not be much older than 10,000 yrs
• Stalactites and stalagmites grow at rate of 4 inches
per month not one inch per century. (Carlsbad bat)
• Lincoln Memorial & Milwaukee Public Museum
both contain stalactites that date 5000-6000 years
old. Lincoln Memorial was built in 1923.
• 1980 a cowboy boot with a rubber sole (circa 1950)
was unearthed the foot inside was petrified.

Job 40:15-24
15 "Look now at the behemoth, which I made along with you; He eats
grass like an ox.
16 See now, his strength is in his hips, And his power is in his stomach
muscles.
17 He moves his tail like a cedar; The sinews of his thighs are tightly knit.
18 His bones are like beams of bronze, His ribs like bars of iron.
19 He is the first of the ways of God; Only He who made him can bring near
His sword.
20 Surely the mountains yield food for him, And all the beasts of the field
play there.
21 He lies under the lotus trees, In a covert of reeds and marsh.
22 The lotus trees cover him with their shade; The willows by the brook
surround him.
23 Indeed the river may rage, Yet he is not disturbed; He is confident,
though the Jordan gushes into his mouth,
24 Can anyone capture him when he is on watch, With barbs can anyone
pierce his nose?

WHAT ABOUT THE DINOSAURS?
Col 1:16 For by him all things were created: things in
heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether
thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things
were created by him and for him.
• The word “Dinosaur” (Terrible Lizard) did not exist
before 1842
• Iguanadon was used from 1822 -1842
• What was it called in ancient times?

BHMTH or LVTHN
Tail like a cedar v.17 Chief v.19
Height: 70 feet (21.4 meters) About the size of a six story building.
Length: 120 feet (36.6 meters) Three long school buses end to end.
Weight: 100 tons
Period: Late Cretaceous
Argentinosaurus, recently discovered in Argentina, will probably will
turn out to be the largest dinosaur yet discovered, larger than
Ultrasauros or Seismosaurus. although Seismosaurus will likely continue
to hold the record for total length due to its extremely long tail,
characteristic of Diplodocidae. The cross section of one vertebra found
of Argentinosaurus measures over five and one half feet in
height. Evolutionary biologists believe that dinosaurs were able to reach
such colossal sizes due to a colossal metabolism. At the height of its
adolescence, Argentinosaurus was probably able to gain about 100
pounds a day!
Some of the fossil vertebrae from the Argentinosaurus,
found in Argentina's Patagonia region, are bigger than a
child.
“But Dinosaurs and
Man never lived
together. They were
separated by millions of
years!” No, they didn't.
An example of Native American rock art
carved into the walls of Grand Canyon.
It was discovered in 1879 by E. L.
Doheny and documented in 1924 by a
scientific expedition which included Dr.
Charles W. Gilmore, Curator of
Vertebrate Paleontology, United States
National Museum. The resulting
publication reported as "fact" that "some
prehistoric man made a pictograph of a
dinosaur on the walls of this canyon..."
Doheny Scientific Expedition, p.5.
Recently someone used it as a target
practice and you can see a bullet hole at
the base of the tail. It shows just how old
the etchings must be since the fresh
bullet mark cuts through the thick "rock
varnish".

This fossil footprint (-3B) is in the
bed of the Paluxy River near Glen
Rose, Texas. It is one of a 14 track
sequence called the Taylor Trail.
The tracks are consistently 11.5" in
length with consistently alternating
rights and lefts. They are among
and, in this case, within dinosaur
tracks.
The average distance between the tracks is
2.6 feet. If the individual’s proportions were
average, a height of 6’ 4" would be
indicated. For such an individual, an
average distance between steps of 2.6’ is
completely normal. Actually, the distance
begins about 2 1/2 feet and declines. At 3B
(a standing track) he appears to stop. The
heel of the next print is not as far ahead as
the toes of 3B. From that point they begin to
lengthen, indicating increasing speed. The
greatest distance is between the last prints.
With momentum increasing, the longer
distances between these tracks is
appropriate. When the tracks are dry is is
easy for a person of average height to stride
from print to print which has been
demonstrated on a number of occasions.
Cat Tracks
This cat track (9 inches across) was found in the same layer with the
Burdick track (Glen Rose, Texas) , Middle Cretaceous, supposedly
110 million years old. Evolutionists, like Richard Dawkins, have
acknowledged that finding a large mammal with the dinosaurs is
just as devastating to evolutionary theory as finding humans.
Richard Dawkins, Oxford "If a single, well verified mammal skull
were to turn up in 500 million year old rocks, our whole modern
theory of evolution would be utterly destroyed. (The Blind
Watchmaker, 1986, p.225)
The magnificent jungle temples of Cambodia were produced
by the Khmer civilization, beginning as early as the eighth
and extending through the fourteenth century A.D. One of, if
not the greatest monarchs and monument builders of this
empire was Jayavarman VII, crowned supreme king in 1181.
He built the beautiful temple monastery Ta Prohm in honor
of his mother, dedicating it in 1186.
These awesome temples were rediscovered by Portuguese
adventurers and Catholic missionaries in the 16th century
and many were restored in 19th and 20th centuries. Ta
Prohm, one of the most picturesque, was left in it's natural
state. It recently gained international attention as the setting
for the first Laura Croft movie.

Nasca Tombs in the deserts of Peru often preserve amazing artifacts
which are very old, including the beautiful, intricate textiles of the
Nasca culture (ca. 700 A.D.).
Dinosaur Tapestry
Dinosaur Pottery
Stone Carvings
Almost one third of the stones depict specific types of dinosaurs, like
those seen here, as well as Triceratops, Stegosaurus and Pterosaurs.
Some appear to have been domesticated, others definitely were not.
Some stones depict amazing
accomplishments, such as
successful brain surgery
confirmed by scarred skulls
which demonstrate healed
recovery.

Dr. Dennis Swift has made a significant study of the
art artifacts excavated from the Chupicauro
civilization (flourished 500 B.C. —A.D. 500) in Mexico.
Thousands of figurines, made of stone and clay
(measuring from a few inches in length to four or five
feet long), depict, with amazing precision, a wide
variety of dinosaurs. The exciting story of the
investigation and photographing of these artifacts, by
Drs. Swift and Donald Patton, can be found on the
internet. The article not only contains photographs of
these dinosaur figurines, but an elaborate defense of
the genuineness of the discoveries against charges of
a hoax.

JOB 41
" Can you draw out Leviathan with a fishhook? Or press down his tongue
with a cord? 2 "Can you put a rope in his nose Or pierce his jaw with a
hook? 3 "Will he make many supplications to you, Or will he speak to
you soft words? 4 "Will he make a covenant with you? Will you take him
for a servant forever? 5 "Will you play with him as with a bird, Or will
you bind him for your maidens? 6 "Will the traders bargain over him?
Will they divide him among the merchants? 7 "Can you fill his skin with
harpoons, Or his head with fishing spears? 8 "Lay your hand on him;
Remember the battle; you will not do it again! 9 " Behold, your
expectation is false; Will you be laid low even at the sight of him? … 12
"I will not keep silence concerning his limbs, Or his mighty strength, or
his orderly frame. 13 "Who can strip off his outer armor? Who can come
within his double mail? 14 "Who can open the doors of his face? Around
his teeth there is terror. 15 "His strong scales are his pride, Shut up as
with a tight seal. 16 "One is so near to another That no air can come
between them.
17 "They are joined one to another; They clasp each other and cannot be
separated. 18 "His sneezes flash forth light, And his eyes are like the eyelids
of the morning. 19 "Out of his mouth go burning torches; Sparks of fire
leap forth. 20 "Out of his nostrils smoke goes forth As from a boiling pot
and burning rushes. 21 "His breath kindles coals, And a flame goes forth
from his mouth. 22 "In his neck lodges strength, And dismay leaps before
him. 23 "The folds of his flesh are joined together, Firm on him and
immovable. 24 "His heart is as hard as a stone, Even as hard as a lower
millstone. 25 "When he raises himself up, the mighty fear; Because of the
crashing they are bewildered. 26 "The sword that reaches him cannot avail,
Nor the spear, the dart or the javelin. 27 "He regards iron as straw, Bronze
as rotten wood. 28 "The arrow cannot make him flee; Slingstones are
turned into stubble for him. 29 "Clubs are regarded as stubble; He laughs at
the rattling of the javelin. 30 "His underparts are like sharp potsherds; He
spreads out like a threshing sledge on the mire. 31 "He makes the depths
boil like a pot; He makes the sea like a jar of ointment. 32 "Behind him he
makes a wake to shine; One would think the deep to be gray-haired. 33 "
Nothing on earth is like him…
What is a Levithan?
An Alligator or a Crocodile?
A large adult can produce an excess of 600 volts and combined with a
current of up to 1 ampere, this can be fatal if delivered to a human in
the near vicinity of the eel. The eels thick skin acts as protection
against its own electric shocks. Injuries inflicted on it can result in the
eel electrocuting itself.
When the eel is caught in fishermen's nets, the other fish are often
found dead due to the shocks from the eel. It has been known to
discharge electric shocks up to eight hours after death due to
continued activity in the electric organs along the eels tail.

Could a creature like the Leviathan exist?
Other creatures do similar things
A plesiosaur was caught in the net of a
Japanese fishing boat in 1977.
The carcass was 32 feet long and weighed
about 4,000 pounds.
The literature of antiquity, throughout various
nations of the globe, has preserved numerous
records of huge, terrifying animals that held human
beings in awe. China, Europe, and the Middle East
contain many examples of such. Frequently they are
called “dragons,” and the stories regarding them are
not dissimilar. The World Book Encyclopedia
comments: “The dragons of legend are much like the
great reptiles which inhabited the earth” (Wilson, p.
265).
The “father of history,” Herodotus (c. 484-425 B.C.),
speaks of “serpents” in Arabia that could fly (II.75).
Similarly, Josephus (c. A.D. 37-95), the Jewish
historian, wrote about some sort of “serpent” that
was able to “fly in the air” during the days of Moses
(Antiquities, 2.10.2). He may have been relying on
“legends” he had heard—or that he had read about
in a more ancient work. Certain types of dinosaurs
are classified as pterosaurs, “flying reptiles.”

absolutely
true!
