• Rating: 2.4 (important)
• Reasons:
– Pros:
• Soldier proof for enemy tampering as well as non
enemy tampering.
– Cons:
• Could possibly prolong the time it takes to service
the burro with an anti-tamper in place.
• Take unnecessary time to design and manufacture.
Fording Depth
• Rating: 2.1, (very important)
– Pros:
• Easy to design and manufacture.
• Adds a tremendous amount of mobility to the unit.
– Cons:
• Water proofing of electronics/possibly alternate
energy source, this also adds unnecessary weight.
Lights
• Rating: 3.0 (somewhat important)
– Pros:
• Able to be used on Highways/Interstate
• Easy to manufacture.
• Could enable the unit to be towed on the road.
– Cons:
• Low highway usage, making lights unnecesary.
• Additional power sink.
• Has the potential to short the units power cell or
other key systems.
Preparation (walk up use)
• Rating: 2.2(Very important)
– Pros:
• Ease of use can save important time.
• Saves time and money for training personnel to
use and operate the unit.
– Cons:
• Will cost more time and money to design an easier
to use system.
Safety (Shutdown)
• Rating: 1.6(Critical)
– Pros:
• Saves lives, keeps the unit under control.
• Able to shutdown the engine or alternative energy
source in case of leaks or other problems.
– Cons:
• Adds cost to the overall unit, as well as time and
money to manufacture.
Thermal Signature
• Rating: 2.6(Important)
– Pros:
• The ability to mask it’s thermal signature will make
the unit more covert.
– Cons:
• More time and money to implement thermal
imaging masking.
• Some level of difficulty in masking a thermal
signature.
Vehicle Profile
• Rating: 2.0 (Very important)
– Pros:
• If you can decrease the size parameters of the
vehicle, you increase the mobility and stability as
well as make the vehicle more covert.
– Cons:
• If you decrease the vehicle profile, you decrease
payload capacitance, as well as ground clearance.
