PRACTICE
Begins on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 Monday thru Thursday Optional Mornings : 7:00 am – 8:00 am for 10 year olds and younger 8:00am -9:00 am for 11 year olds and older OR Evenings: 7:00 -8:00 pm for 10 year olds and younger 8:00 -9:00 pm for 11 year olds and older
There could be a Sunday practice. At the coaches request .
Swimmers should attend 3 out of the 4 practices
Attention and Respect to the coach’s directions ALL SWIMMERS MUST STAY OUT OF THE RECREATIONAL POOL AREA AND AWAY FROM THE SLIDE AT ALL TIMES.

PRACTICE

The Swim Team hotline updated 30 minutes prior to start. ** If lightning occurs during practice/meets, the coaches and Parent Reps will remove all swimmers from deck area.

Meet event participation will be emailed to you 1-2 days prior to the meet and may be at practice the night before OR check online

On the shoulder put your child’s last name. On their forearm, write down the following information:

The MEET
Swimmer should arrive 45 minutes before the meet
Ready to hit the water!
“I can’t make that meet” book. Swimmers should report to the Bullpen area upon arrival check in with the Bullpen Coordinator.

RIBBONS
Ribbons are placed in family files as soon as possible.
Available at practice.
Young swimmers receive ribbons for all places.
Older swimmers receive ribbons for only 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in each heat.
PRELIMINARIES AND FINALS
At the end of the season we have prelims.
The coaching staff encourages

swimmers to swim.
Prelim. dates: July 15 @ 7:00 am for 11 and Older July 16 @ 7:00 am for 10 and Under
WHERE: Manchester
The top 16 swimmers from prelims make it to finals. Finals will be broken into an: Heat “A” ( 1st thru 8th ) Heat “B” ( 9th thru 16th ) WE WILL ALSO HAVE 2 ALTERNATE SPOTS Date for Finals: Thursday, July 18 6:00pm @ Webster Groves
EXPECTED of our parents
Parents should not interrupt the coaches during team practice or meets. If you feel it necessary to contact them, they usually have time before and in between practices, send an email, or let a parent representative know of your concern.
Swimmers are proud of your involvement as long as it is supportive and encouraging.
Work assignments
Many volunteers are needed during every meet. Each family needs to do their part. Each family unit is required to work (3) work assignments.
THIS IS MANDATORY!!!
WE WILL NOT CHANGE YOUR ASSIGNMENTS. IF YOU CAN NOT MAKE YOUR WORK ASSIGNMENT “YOU” NEED TO FIND A REPLACEMENT
On meet night, report to the Meet Coordinator upon arrival at the Check-In Table
Fundraising
The “ONLY” income for our swim team is through:
Team T-shirt Heat Sheets
Please show you support for the Sharks This money goes for new stop watches, kick boards, paper/pens/etc., awards, and the end of season banquet.
Banquet
Each year we will have an end of season banquet.
A great time had by ALL.
The funds raised through Heat Sheets, Ads, and other funds will pay for food and drinks. The Banquet will be a time to give trophies, final ribbons, and say thanks to the coaching staff. Mark your calendars for the banquet on July 21 @ Riverchase Youngers Banquet 4:00-5:00 Olders Banquet 5:00-6:00
