Objectives: Part One
Participants will be able to:
• Recognize the steps in having a Blackboard course
created
• Login to Blackboard at UNMC
• Develop a plan for creating the structure as well as
the “look and feel” of their Blackboard courses
• Take existing learning materials (primarily text)
and convert them for use in Blackboard courses
• Enroll and Remove students from your course

• Make PowerPoint presentation available to your
learners (three ways: PPT, HTML, PDF)
• Create tests and surveys
• Successfully navigate the Gradebook
• Insert multimedia into Blackboard
• Strategy for end-of-the-semester course
management

Creating Blackboard Courses
• Contact LEIS personnel and request a
course in Blackboard be created
• Provide the following information:
– Name of course
– Course number
– Instructor(s)

Once the course is created:
• Log in to Blackboard
• Go to My Courses and find the newly
created course
• Click on the course and you will be taken to
the Announcements page of your course
