News in the relationship SJACP Spring 2005
 New sales and marketing agreement SJ-ACP from June 2005
 Net pricing philosophy for all types of tickets (SJ point-to-point,
Sweden Rail Pass, ITX fares) = the final price to the customer will
no longer be decided by SJ but by ACP
 SJ will take over the marketing activities in the ”key markets”
(Scandinavia, Germany, BeNeLux, GB), however in close
cooperation with ACP. Example: We will both participate in certain
workshops, fairs etc.
 ACP Marketing will still have the main responsibility for marketing
activities outside SJ’s ”key markets”.
 SJ will no longer load any SJ fares and schedules in AccesRail from
June 12th 2005.

 Changes in the reservation fees for seats, couchettes and sleepers
(probably from June 1st)
 The Sweden Rail Pass (and Euro Domino Sweden) is valid on the
whole way from Gothenburg to Oslo and from Stockholm to Oslo
(no extra ticket needed for the Norwegian part!)
 The Norway Rail Pass (and Euro Domino Norway) is valid on the
whole way from Oslo to Gothenburg and from Oslo to Stockholm
(no extra ticket needed for the Swedish part!)
 Reservations in the summer trains (June 12th – August 14th) will
be possible from April 20th (the normal booking period for SJ’s day
trains is 3 months, for SJ’s night trains up to one year in advance)

 The trains Gothenburg-Oslo are run by NSB - no longer by
SJ. NSB pricing and discounts are valid! NSB is responsible
for ITX fares etc.
 There are three daily trains between Gothenburg-Oslo and
vice versa (two in the weekends)
 The trains are the Norwegian BM73 units
 Only 2nd class, however possibility to reserve seats in the
Comfort class (complimenary coffee/tea, newspapers)

 Do you have to reserve seats on Swedish Trains?
Answer: Yes, in all X 2000’s and night trains
reservation is compulsory, in other trains (Inter
City, Regional services) seat reservation is
recommended, especially in the summer time.
Almost all SJ trains are open for booking.

 Are there any motorrail trains in Sweden?
Answer: No unfortunately not
 Can you send registered luggage in Sweden?
 Answer: No, unfortunately not

Some FAQ’s…
 Can you take your bike with you on the Swedish trains?
Answer: No, normally not on the SJ trains. However, some
regional services offer this service, for example the local
trains in the Øresund region and the local trains in the
Stockholm area, run by Citypendeln.
There is a limited possibility to bring your bikes in the
regional trains Copenhagen-Malmö-Kalmar/Gothenburg,
can only be booked in Sweden (price 70 SEK)

Some FAQ’s…
 Are you allowed to take your dog with you when
going by train in Sweden?
Answer: Yes, in the special compartments
reserved for travellers with pets (not in sleepers,
couchettes or bistro coaches). Max. 2 dogs are
free per each adult ticket (no size restrictions…)
The customer must himself arrange all necessary
documenation for bringing pets into Sweden!

 Are shower and WC available in all Swedish night
trains?
 Answer: In the sleeping cars there are either
shower/WC at the end of each coach, or in certain
coaches in each compartment. In the couchettes
there are shower/WC at the end of each coach.
