Welcome to OVID DATABASES:
AMED Allied and Complementary Medicine
• AMED covers relevant references to articles
from approximately 596 journals. Specific
subjects include:
alternative medicine; occupational therapy;
speech, language, and hearing; podiatry; and
palliative care. All records have basic
bibliographic information; many articles
published from 1995 onwards have abstracts.
To access, go to

• 1. From home page, look for the bar across
the page, click on STUDENT SERVICES or look
for Library, under STUDENT SERVICES.

• 3. At the bottom of the page you will find the
OVID databases:

•Obtain user code from Librarian and fill in
ID and Password per her instructions.
•You will then be prompted to select a
database from the same screen.
•Select AMED Allied and Complementary
Medicine
5. After logging in with user ID and password, this screen
will appear. Click on AMED Allied and Complementary
Medicine
Search for Evidence based practice or enter your research topic here:
in the box and click on search.
Look at the right side of the screen for important
information regarding this article.
Before purchasing any articles, check our full text databases to
see if they are contained within one of them and read the
abstract to be sure the article will be useful in your research.
The subject headings list what searches could be entered to obtain this article. In
other words, what is the main topics of the article.
From the subject heading options, select for example all the articles on Evidence
based
You may also find the number of articles on your search topic is also evident.
If you receive an outrageously large number, consider narrowing your topic.
For example, 1754 articles on evidence based practice, narrow the results by
subjects
If you narrow the search to evidence based practice
and humans, the results are 103 articles
If you find a good article on the topic you have chosen, you can also click on
find similar for more articles under the same topic.
