How the System Works

    FAN uses the Student Assistance Program (SAP), endorsed by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMSHA), to identify youth who are at highest risk of academic failure, drop out and drug use. Youth and families are identified by the FRC coordinator, parents, teachers, or self referral.

A core team within each school reviews referrals on a case by case basis Appropriate resources, referrals, and assistance are provided to youth and family

Services Provided to Youth and Families

 Individual counseling and group therapy sessions provided by licensed clinicians  Curriculum guided family sessions using Strengthening Families and Children of Addicted Parents  Resource referrals for additional services.
