Abstract Guidelines
- Patty Deen
The abstract is a well-written and concise
summary of the entire project.
The abstract is read and approved by the
Board. It becomes part of the published
record and open to the public.
Abstract length varies by project. Typical
length ranges from 100 to 300 words.
8
Abstract Guidelines
- Patty Deen
An abstract should outline five elements:
1. What is the sabbatical focus, purpose, subject or
area of interest?
2. What sabbatical activities do you plan to complete?
3. How do you intend to accomplish the activities?
4. How will you document these activities in your final
report?
5. How will your activities and accomplishments help
the district?
Helpful Hint: Write your abstract last!
