Identify buttons: Cut, copy, paste
• Home Tab, Clipboard Group  Cut
• Home Tab, Clipboard Group  Copy
• Home Tab, Clipboard Group  Paste
Steps to copy text:
1. Select the text to copy
2. Click the Copy button
(or CTRL + C)
3. Click your cursor to new location for text.
4. Click the Paste button
(or CTRL + V)
Steps to cut and paste text:
note: Cut & pasting text IS moving text
1. Select the text to cut and paste
2. Click the Cut button
(or CTRL + X)
3. Click your cursor to new location for text.
4. Click the Paste button
(or CTRL + V)

As you paste something you get the Paste
Options button image pop up right where
you are pasting you text. If you click on it
you get a menu from which you can
specify how to paste.
Cut & paste = drag & drop = move
1. Select the text to move.
2. Release mouse button
3. Drag the block of text to new location,
dropping it when the vertical line is where
you want the block to BEGIN:
If you make a mistake….
• Click the undo button
right away.
Clipboard task pane
Located in the Home Tab. Click on the clipboard dialog
launcher
Another way to cut & paste (or copy & paste). It
looks like this:
Clipboard task pane
It is a window pane on the left of your screen that
shows the text that you previously cut or copied.
Steps would NOW be : 1. Select Text. 2. Click
Copy (or Cut). 3. Click cursor in new location.
4. Click on the text in the right window pane that
you want to paste. (Step 4 is the NEW step.)
