• Set a regular time and place to study each day and
throughout the week.
• Use your planner and keep a daily “to do” list.
• Set goals for yourself.
• Ask your teacher for specific help when at tutorial.
• Do your reading assignments before the material is
discussed in class.
• Pay close attention and take good notes in class.
• Prepare for tests during your regular study times instead
of cramming at the last minute.
• Avoid texting and Facebooking while you study!

The role of “standardized” tests





Colleges require either the ACT or SAT as part of the
student’s application
Practice tests : 9th – EXPLORE/10th – PLAN/11th – PSAT
In the spring of junior year, take the ACT and/or the SAT
Retake in the fall of senior year if necessary
Private colleges may require “SAT subject” tests (also
called SAT II).
