• Book your housing through ASCRS/ASOA to obtain discounted rates.
• Shuttle buses run to and from the BCEC to the official ASCRS/ASOA
Symposium & Congress hotels.
• View a map of hotel locations and amenities.
Travel Reservations
• Attendees will fly in and out of Boston’s Logan International Airport (BOS).
Public transportation including the “T” subway system, hotel shuttles, and
taxis are available from the airport to all hotels.
• If you are registered for any of the ASOA Workshops on Friday, April 25th,
you will want to arrive on Thursday, April 24th.
What Your Conference
Registration Includes
•
Your badge and meeting materials. These will not be mailed in advance.
IMPORTANT: Bring your confirmation email with you on site to print your badge.
•
Access to all ASCRS and ASOA programs. Separate registration and fee required for ASOA
Workshops, Cornea Day, ASCRS Glaucoma Day.
•
A joint registration category is available for those interested in attending both the ASOA Congress
and Technicians & Nurses Program.
•
ASCRS programs are not eligible for COE credit.
•
Admission to the Exhibit Hall and the ASCRS/ASOA Resource Center Booth # 663.
•
General Sessions and Roundtables.
•
ASOA Networking Lounge and featured activities, including
Consultants-on-Call.
•
ASOA Celebration – Sunday, April 27, 8PM to 12AM
Location – House of Blues (15 Lansdowne St.)
Conference badge required.
ASOA Workshops &
the COE Exam
•
You do not have to attend the ASOA Congress to register for the ASOA Workshops* or the COE Exam*.
However, separate registration and fees apply for these programs.
•
ASOA Workshops are optional training workshops and review courses in a concentrated training
environment. Register for the following workshops:

Course Selection
• Preview Program: Mailed to you and available online.
• Online Real-Time Program and Itinerary Planner: Maximize your time at the
conference. Search and browse the program and create your custom itinerary.
• Handouts: It is strongly advised you print or download conference handouts in
advance and bring them with you. Printers will not be available onsite.
• A mobile application will be available in early April 2014. We suggest that you
download and review the app prior to arriving.
Shuttle Buses
• Shuttle buses run to and from the BCEC to the official
ASCRS/ASOA Symposium & Congress hotels.
• A printed schedule will also be included in your
conference bag.
• Allow yourself a minimum of 45 minutes prior to the start
of your first session at the BCEC.
Navigating the Congress
•
ASOA Programming will be held in the BCEC, primarily on Level 1.
The address for the BCEC is 415 Summer Street.
•
ASCRS Programming will also be held in the BCEC, primarily on Level 2.
•
The Exhibit Hall will be located in the BCEC, on the lower, Exhibit Level. The Exhibit Hall will
be open 9 am – 5 pm Saturday – Monday and from 9 am – 1 pm on Tuesday.
•
Bring your confirmation email, print your badge, and pick up your
bag and registration materials in the Attendee Registration
located in the North Lobby of the BCEC.
•
Pick up your BADGE PRIOR to attending the Joint
Government Relations Session featuring
U.S. Senator Rand Paul, MD (R-KY)
on Friday at 5:00 pm
Navigating the Congress
•
The ASOA Networking Lounge will be located in room 104BC, Level 1, of the BCEC.
Attendee Ribbons will be available for pick-up in the Lounge.
•
The ASCRS/ASOA Resource Center will be located in the Exhibit Hall, Booth #663.
•
Charging stations will be located throughout BCEC.
•
Print your Continuing Education Credits (CEC and Certificates)
before leaving the conference at the technology kiosks
which will be located throughout the BCEC.
•
Food will be available for purchase on Level 1
as well as in the Exhibit Hall.
•
COE Lunch & Program – Exclusively for COEs

Top 10 Roundtables: Saturday, April 26, 11:00 am – 12 noon (Room 107 B)
•
Remaining Roundtables will be held in the Networking Lounge (Room 104BC)
Saturday afternoon thru Monday.
Networking Lounge
• The Networking Lounge (104BC) will open 30 minutes before sessions
begin and close 30 minutes after sessions conclude.
• Consultants-on-Call: Walk in or schedule one-on-one meetings with
experienced consultants.
• Career Board: Post a resume or browse resumes for job openings.
Resumes or job postings should be sent in advance to [email protected]
• Roundtables: Saturday afternoon thru Monday (see schedule posted
outside of Networking Lounge).
What to Pack
• Conference attire is business casual.
• Weather in Boston can vary in April. Plan on checking the weather in
advance and pack an umbrella.
• Meeting rooms can be chilly. Pack a light jacket or sweater.
• Bring plenty of business cards to make the most of your
networking experience.
• Print or download session handouts in advance to
bring with you. (Printers will not be available on site)

• Boston is a wonderful and historic city for site seeing, shopping, dining, or

Online Real-Time Program and Itinerary Planner: Gain the most from this educational
opportunity by planning your schedule in advance.

Mobile App: Download the meeting app onto your mobile device or tablet and take
advantage of viewing the meeting information right in your hands. (The app will be
available in early April 2014)

Continuing Education Credits: Obtain your credits and print certificates before leaving
the conference at the technology kiosks located in the BCEC.
•
Charging Stations: Located throughout the BCEC should you need to charge your
electronic devices.
