researchers and introducing them to higher
(University) education in the UK
Working with partners in Manchester
Mentoring
Around 8 hours per week each
• Equip with research skills that will enable them
to carry out research in their community on
issues related to the health and well-being of
Migrant Roma (regular supervisory sessions)
• Support with presentation skills and
confidence in public speaking
• Gain experience and confidence within a
Higher Education setting (attendance at
lectures and training etc)
• Support with exploring further work or
educational opportunities after the mentoring
project has finished.

• Reporting and redress mechanisms,

• Employment and,
• Cross community relations.

stakeholders representing:
• Local authorities/municipalities,
• Law enforcement/judicial agencies,
• Public and private sector employers,
• Community representatives and advocates,
• Social workers and
• Representatives from NGOs and Roma-led
community organisations.
