UNLV purchased 6,000 #’s approx 15 years
ago
The prefix of 895 –we purchased and own
6,000 numbers 895-0000 through 895-5999
for campus – additionally we purchased
895-5999 through 895-9999 can only be
used internally
We grew once again and needed more
numbers
We purchased 10,000 numbers
– New prefix 774 -0000 though 774-9999
Place a campus call :
Lifting handset or keying in 5-digit extension
number
Place a local call :
Dial 8 + 7 digit local phone number then,
press directory number – your number is
dialed automatically…
Place a long distance call
Dial 8 +1+ area code + 7 digit number, then press
the directory number – number is dialed
automatically .
Forward a message-confused with transfer
Forward: your number to another number
Transfer: a call to another number

Press your directory number and message
key, then # or message key and # and enter
your password number (passwords should
be 5 to 16 digits and press # again)

prompts as if you were on
campus
FROM ANOTHER DESK
(on campus)
Dial 54900
Then continue as if you are
at your own desk

(follow the prompts)
Record your greeting by pressing 5
End your recording with #
TEMPORARY GREETING
(used when you will be away for a few days
or more)

(follow the prompt on the system)
Record your “away” greeting
End your recording with the #
Enter the time, date you want the recording
to begin playing, then #
Enter the time, date you want the recording
to stop playing, then #

mailbox, this must be done or they will not
receive your message.
•Press 83 to DISCONNECT from the voice
mail system
