Coordinate interactive fora (Electronic and face to
face);
Facilitate capacity building through exchange visits;
Promote networking (within AFRACA, other
mainstream sub-sectors and other R&D Agencies);
Facilitate continuous generation of new knowledge,
develop best practices and disseminate;
Increase membership of non-financial services
providers and create an interactive platform
between financial and non-financial service
providers; and
Lobby Governments and donors for increased
support
2.0 Member Institutions






Deepen understanding and appreciation of value
chain financing;
Build Research & Development Capacity on all
aspects along the value chain;
Mobilize technical and financial resources to
support value chain financing;
Develop appropriate products & carry out
product modifications where necessary;
Design, test and provide financial services
models to smallholders and value chain players;
Increase interactive learning among members
and others.
3.0 Governments





Create enabling environment
- Conducive policies
- Regulatory and legal framework
- Create incentives for increasing resources
toward agricultural financing;
Create awareness on services available to farmers;
Coordinate the services of the various financial
service providers to avoid duplication and exploit
synergies;
Increase technical assistance to target smallholder
clientele; and
Support capacity building of extension officers to
evaluate and improve viable value chains.
Donors and Technical Agencies






Facilitate technical assistance in research
and capacity building;
Support technology transfer;
Support product development;
Provide resources for agricultural finance
innovations and expansion;
Support all institutions that adopt best
practices; and
Support and facilitate interactive fora for
learning and information exchange.
