Trading Cards and
Pilgrim Presentation
1.We will assign each group one pilgrim for this assignment.
2.Create an Annotated Bibliography for research conducted on your assigned pilgrim
from The Canterbury Tales. (10 points)
3. Re-read the Canterbury Tales Prologue’s section focusing on your pilgrim. Read your
assigned pilgrim’s tale.
4.Complete the Pilgrim Presentation (50 points)
1. You must become familiar with this character from a number of aspects such
as personality, motivation, physical description, and connection to their Tale.
2.Paraphrase it, make a list of characteristics, and begin to draw conclusions
about your character based on the information in the text. Don’t forget to read
your Pilgrim’s Tale
3.Create a 2-3 page character presentation based on the Prologue description.
Put your pilgrim’s name on the first page and everyone in your group’s names
as well.
1.Write a character description that includes…your own analysis and go
far beyond simply paraphrasing Chaucer’s description.
A.One paragraph on personality & motivation
B.One paragraph on physical characteristics.
2.Your Tale- a summary. Allegory? Irony? Satire? Not satirized? One
page. Can include pictures.
4.Typed. Double Spaced, 12 POINT fonts that are in dark ink. Please no cursive
or curly fonts.
5.No watermarks in the background
6.You can talk to us about your ideas. We are open to creativity! 
5.The Canterbury Tales Trading Cards Assignment (40 points)
1.Using the same Pilgrim, create a trading card using PowerPoint.
2.We’ve provided you with the template on the web. You must follow the
template instructions.
3.The final trading card must be emailed to me, due by midnight the night
before its due. You MUST also turn in a hard copy!
4.Your group’s trading card will be a part of the class’ compiled final product.
So…make it a god one!
