Encore Team
The Encore teachers are comprised of
those teachers whose disciplines broaden
the learning of all our students, providing
them with wonderful programs that help to
create well-rounded people. These teachers
foster the discovery of new talents, or nurture
the development of our learners' skills,
keeping them fit in mind, body, and spirit.
The Encore Team is an active member of the
Hackettstown Middle School Learning
Community.

General Music Grade 5
Music Fundamentals
 Students will read, write and perform rhythmic
notation
 Students will read, write and perform melodic
notation
 Students will participate in individual piano
instruction

Chorus Grade 5
 Students will develop an understanding of proper
vocal tone
 Students will demonstrate a unified choral sound
 Chorus meets every B and D day out of the SOAR
period. Once committed to chorus, attendance at
both rehearsals and concerts are required!
 Winter concert December 9,2014, Spring concert
May 5, 2015
General Music Grade 6
 Students will demonstrate the ability to read, write,
and perform melodic notation on the Grand Staff in
the classroom, on a keyboard, and in any music
ensemble.
 Students will participate in individual piano
instruction, working toward individually set goals, to
improve performance.
 Students will explore basic music composition
 Students will participate in group composition
projects.
Chorus Grade 6
 Students will develop an understanding of proper




