We trust that you will find this Online Manuscript Submission, Review and Tracking
System very user friendly. To make your start even easier, please find below a few
instructions:
Authors: When submitting a manuscript, please DO NOT include any of your personal
information (name, affiliation, etc.) anywhere in the manuscript or on the cover page.
This is to ensure a double-blinded review process. Thank you.
New Authors: Please click the 'Register' button from the menu above and enter the
requested information. Upon successful registration you will be sent an e-mail with
instructions to verify your registration.
Note:
• When you have received an e-mail from us with an assigned
user ID and password, DO NOT REGISTER AGAIN. Just log in to
the system as 'Author'.
Authors: Please click the 'Login' button from the menu above and log in to the system as 'Author'.
Then submit your manuscript and track its progress through the system. A wide range of
submission file formats is supported, including: Word, WordPerfect, RTF, TXT, TIFF, GIF, JPEG, EPS,
LaTeX2E, TeX, Postscript, PICT, Excel, Tar, Zip and Powerpoint. PDF is not an acceptable file
format.
Note:
• Please upload your manuscript only ONCE on to the system. After uploading your manuscript, it
will be automatically formatted as a PDF file, and you will be sent an e-mail requesting that you
approve your submission. Please return to the main menu and APPROVE your submission
accordingly.
Returning Authors: Please use the provided username and password and log in as 'Author' to
track your manuscript or to submit a NEW manuscript. (Do not register again as you will then be
unable to track your manuscript).
Reviewers: Please click the 'Login' button from the menu above and log in to the system as
'Reviewer'. You may view and/or download manuscripts assigned to you for review, submit your
comments for the editors and the authors, and track the progress of your manuscripts through the
system.
For reviewers seeking guidance in the preparation of their review, you are encouraged to read: A
Guide to Reviewing Manuscripts. Authors may also benefit from reading this report that details
specific items that reviewers consider in preparing their review.
Note:
• Please click the 'Accept' or 'Decline' button as soon as possible after receipt of the e-mail asking
you to review a manuscript.

editorial board in the case of the MCH Journal,
or an editor in the case of larger journals
• Editor or board member decides to reject or

review – process can be sloooow
Journal Workflow
• Reviews returned—editor can reject or discuss
by group of editors
• Editor or group decision to reject or revise

thoroughly and completely proofread and edited
according to the journal’s instructions
Accept?
• I can accept those immediately
• If the revision is not fully responsive I have to
send it back
• If it needs corrections I have to send it back
• If you highlighted, underlined, colored or bolded
the edited text I have to send it back
Accept?
• What I accept is published as is
• If we have to keep going back and forth, it will
delay publication and make me angry which will
delay publication even further
