If concussion sustained, a follow up test is
taken for comparison

test reaction speed, memory, attention
span and non-verbal problem solving

classes or the equivalent the
previous grading period
– Granville standard - 2.0 or higher

EXTRACURRICULAR SUBSTANCE ABUSE/TOBACCO
POLICY
Consequences for Violations
 At all violation levels the student/athlete
must enroll in and be working toward
completion of:
1)an assessment conducted or supervised by a
licensed chemical dependency counselor approved by
the Ohio Department of Alcohol & Drug addiction
Services and
2)any education or counseling recommended by the
counselor to its completion.
First Offense during the
student's school career
1. Loss of any leadership position
activities for the remainder of the year
and may not receive MVP or other postactivity school honors.
2. Suspension from 10% of the scheduled
regular season athletic contests. Any
partial game suspensions shall round to
the next whole game (Ex: 2.1 = 3).
3. The percentage of suspension not
completed would carry over to the next
season/activity
Second Offense during the
student’s school career
1. Loss of any leadership position activities
for the remainder of the year and may
not receive MVP or other post-activity

regular season athletic contests. Any
partial game suspensions shall round to
the next whole game (Ex: 2.1 = 3).
3. The percentage of suspension not
completed would carry over to the next
season/activity.
Third Offense during the
student's school career
1. The student is removed from all
extracurricular activities for one
calendar year of the date of the
infraction meeting.
2. After one year of the suspension has been
served, the student may apply to the
Athletic Director for reinstatement. The
final determination of reinstatement is
at the sole discretion of the Athletic
Director and Principal. The student may
apply each year for reinstatement.

The student is removed from all
extracurricular activities
permanently from the date of the
infraction meeting.

Parents must be partners to prevent use
Show by parent networks and promoting alcohol
free and other drug free events
State your position openly and clearly and
enforce rules
Verify child's whereabouts

Over the years there have been rumors
and instances of parents providing alcohol
at parties in their homes. This is ILLEGAL
and a violation of the Athletic Policy and
will be dealt with accordingly.
Athletic Department Philosophy
Athletes are at a prime age to learn:
 Good sportsmanship
 True meaning of competition
 Develop personal qualities to become successful
citizens

You must have insurance to
participate in athletics. If you
need insurance see me or your
coach for forms to purchase
insurance. It can purchased for
the season or for the full school
year.
