Bibliotherapy Definitions
• The use of books to help people solve
problems.
• A child reading about a character who
successfully resolves a problem similar to
the one the child is experiencing.
• Create a healing through books.
“A book may be able to reach where an
adult cannot”. (Maich & Kean, 2003).

• An awareness that others have faced
similar problems
• The knowledge that alternative solutions to
problems exist.
• The development of a freedom to talk
about problems.
• The growth of problem solving skills.
