Grief is the price we pay for love (Parkes 1986) Loss is being deprived of something one has had (Neimeyer 2000)

…any changes in our life equates to LOSS. Any loss equates to GRIEF.

For CALD people going through grief in relation to arriving in a new country it is like “peeling an onion”. Each new layer brings a different aspect of the grieving process to light and these aspects may be re experienced over and over as each layer is peeled back.
