Parentheses
Exponents
Multiplication & Division (Left to Right)
Addition & Subtraction (Left to Right)
(“Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally”)
My Example
Example #1
23 x (4+2) + 34 =y
First do the Parenthesis (4+2) =6
Then the Exponents 23 =8, and 34 =81
Now the problem is 8 x 6 + 81 = y
Multiply 8 x 6 = 48
Then add 48 + 81
y = 129
How to do it on a calculator
How to do it on a Calculator
 73+(8x9)-45=p
 First do Parenthesis, (8x9)=72
 Next do 7, three times 7x7x7=
343
 Next find out the new equation
which is 343+72-45=p
 343+72=415
 415-45=370
 p =370
