Organisation

Samarbetsrådet

A council; Samarbetsrådet, has been formed with representatives from IKEA and Linnaeus University. Pro-Rector Lena Fritzén is the chairman of the council.

The council’s assignment is to support the development and follow-up of the collaboration.

Professorship and PhD students

The Bridge has its own professor, Saara Taalas, and four PhD students, conducting research within the fields of technology, business administration, and design.

The Bridge also has two adjunct professors from IKEA. Gudmund Vollbrecht, in the field of forestry and wood technology, and Lars Dafnäs, in the field of design.

Prioritised programmes

IKEA and Linnaeus University have worked out a list of prioritised programmes at Linnaeus University having a strategic match with The Bridge programme. Students on these programmes will have the opportunity to come into contact with IKEA through guest lectures, educational visits, case studies, and degree projects.

Home Sweet Home

Students from the fields of business, engineering and design form a multidisciplinary team and work together, both theoretically and practically. In this summer course, the concepts of creativity, reflection, and practical implementation are all based on ideas about Life at Home.

Innovation through Business, Engineering and Design

The master programme will have an interdisciplinary approach, covering business and engineering as well as design. The programme will enable students to learn from each other’s skills and increase their ability to engage in various projects and product development.
