Constructing Bisectors
Construct the angle bisector of
F.
Step 1 Put the tip of the compass at F and draw
an arc that intersects the sides of F. The points
of intersection are D and E.
Step 2 Using the same compass opening, place
the compass tip at D and then at E, and draw
intersecting arcs. Point X is where the arcs
intersect.
Step 3 Draw FX. FX is the bisector of

1. Draw a segment 9.5 cm long. Then construct its perpendicular bisector.
2. Use a protractor to draw an angle that measures 45°. Then construct
its bisector.
