SXU Institutional Self-Study Goals
The HLC Evaluation Team will recommend re-accreditation without
stipulation.
Stronger linkages will be developed between assessment activities and
institutional actions that will advance the University’s goal of academic
excellence in an environment of continuous improvement.
The University community will develop a greater understanding of the
inter-connections between the University’s Eight Strategic Directions, our
Mission, and our future success.
The University community will develop a clear and articulated vision for
the new Orland Park Campus, reflecting the University strategic direction
for a campus master plan that fosters excellence in teaching and learning
at all locations.
An appropriate and integrated institutional structure for management and
oversight of graduate programs will be developed to advance the
University’s strategic vision for academic excellence at all levels.

Informed expansion of the “first year experience” that advances the
strategic direction of recruiting talented students who are actively engaged
in dynamic learning environments will occur.
Greater support for competency in information technology and
communication literacy will be integrated into academic and student support
services.
The University administration and faculty leadership will partner to foster
new strategic initiatives for faculty professional development and
scholarship.
The HLC Evaluation Team assessment report will support admission to the
AQIP process.
The HLC Evaluation Team will confirm that satisfactory action or policy
changes addressing all 1997 NCA Findings and Recommendations have
occurred.
