When You Call in an Emergency

• 5 Countywide P.S.A.P.s

• CSU Dispatch will handle on campus calls to 911 – stay on the phone with them!

• Other agencies handle 911 calls in other jurisdictions with ‘one touch’ transfers • Coordinate information with police and responders when they arrive and YOUR FELLOW STAFF members so everyone knows what is happening and what to do 11

CSU Emergency Management Team

• What/Who is the E.M.T.?

– They meet in the identified EOC (Emergency Operations Center) during emergencies – They meet monthly for planning about possible emergencies – Very similar to other jurisdictions 13

CSU Operational Phases

• Readiness – Includes Analysis and Mitigation – Plan and PRACTICE!

• Response – Contain/Size Up – Tactics – Triage – Scene Control/Investigation – Cleanup and Debrief • Recovery 14

Family Preparedness IS IMPORTANT TOO!

• Go Kits • Telephone Listings • “Re-Group” sites and routes or GATHERING POINTS • Food, medicine, water for two weeks (pets too) and PRACTICE!

• Building Proctors go through four levels of emergency awareness and preparedness – they’re a GREAT resource!

• Individuals should prepare for emergencies and how they and their families will be best protected!

• Proctors cover everything from the EOP, to pathogens, to ergonomics, to Right to Know information
