Recreation ground committee

Village Hall
◦ The committee has worked hard on compiling fair charges
to the numerous clubs that use the facilities which have
been accepted by all
◦ Insurances have been combined with the Parish Council to
reduce costs
◦ Funds were raised through the very successful village fun
run which is being staged again in September
◦ After 25 years of devoted service from Jack and Gwen, the
Village Hall now has new caretakers Mark and Rebecca
Anderson.
◦ They have already refurbished the accommodation in time
to welcome the twins and are settling in to the role well.

External Auditor’s report: On the basis of our review, in our opinion the information
contained in the annual return is in accordance with the Audit Commission’s
requirements and no matters have come to our attention giving cause for concern
that relevant and regulatory requirements have not been met.

The charity was established under a Charity Commission scheme on 29 January
1963 and was a amalgamation of the Richard Leche Charity (founded 1596), which
had a small fund, and the Henry Smith Charity (Tolleshunt D’Arcy estate)
established in 1641, which had an income, which the trustees receive annually,
being the share of the rents from property in Essex.

The period of office for nominated trustees is four years.

The Leche’s and Smith’s Charities trustees at present are:

The purpose of the trust is for the general relief of the poor in the ancient parish
of Fletching – which now means Fletching and Danehill parishes.

This past year (in 2011) the charity has made grants to local residents of the
parishes totalling £2,775.
