This is a high school Biology lesson on the cell. The students will research and create a PowerPoint slide presentation on parts of a cell and organelles.

Actual Learning Slides I learned the following: •Better use of Laser disc player •Performing Internet searches: use of search engines •Improve use of the scanner •Digital photography using digital camera •Learn to cut and paste to and from different programs

Implementation Slides-Successes  Student were interested in using the computer PowerPoint software  Students were engaged on the topic and Internet search.

 Student perceived new skills as beneficial  Students used different sources to learn (other than textbook.

Implementation Slides- Shortcomings  Students had problems learning PowerPoint and problems plague some students when they did not saved their work.  With block scheduling time is an important constraint. There is very little time.

 Different level of interest.  Laboratory was not available at times that it was needed and problem with down computers.

Most of the students improved their initial pretest scores. Only a few of the student did not do better on the second test There is some discrepancy on the score because their isn’t the improvement that is expected after a lesson. This might be due to the lack of emphasis learning the concepts.

Post test/ PowerPoint presentation

Most of the students prepared an acceptable PowerPoint presentation. Most of the presentations were very good.

Test scores and project scores don’t correlate.

Reflections and Revisions The lesson needs to be in constant revision. It will be done as experience is acquired. There is a need to develop more in depth research of the functions of the parts and organelles of the cell. In the summer when the lesson is implemented with another group of students, further changes will be made to improve the lesson. This lesson on the cell part is a precursor for other lessons that leads to more research on the function.

Assessing Your Own Growth Technology is important part of student learning. It is important that teachers learn to use technology in the classroom. During this year I have increase the use of technology in my curriculum. My only constrain was time. I had some may responsibility this year in school that it was had to keep up. I lost many of the pictures I took for the project when I had to reformat the hard drive. But overall I enjoy learning to use more software. I am enjoying using the digital camera to take pictures. I plan to continue using this hardware and software acquired through CTAP. This program has given a big push to head into the future.

• The golgi complex serve as storehouse for special substance by the cell of glands in which they are most common.

• They also involve in forming new endoplasmic reticulum.

• Collect secretory products and package them for export or cell use.
