What is the EXPLORE test?
The EXPLORE is a shorter/grade appropriate
version of the ACT.

–
–
–
–
English- 40 questions (30 Minutes)
Math- 30 questions (30 Minutes)
Reading- 30 questions (30 Minutes)
Science- 28 questions (30 Minutes)
Why is the EXPLORE test
important?
The EXPLORE is a modified version of the
ACT given to 8th and 9th grade students.
 The EXPLORE helps predict a student’s
future score on the ACT.

– The ACT is a part of a series of tests typically
taken during the spring of a student’s junior year.
– All students must take an ACT test as a
graduation requirement.
– ACT scores are used for the college application
and admission process.
Why is the EXPLORE test important?

The EXPLORE test provides schools, parents,
and students information on what your student
knows now and what skills he/she needs to work
on in H.S. in order to be prepared for college and
the career of their choice.
– This test is also used as an early warning indicator if
your student needs reading and/or math interventions
during the summer and/or throughout the school year.
Tips for student success:

our website)
Eat a healthy breakfast.
Read all the directions.
Pace yourself - this is a timed test.
If you do not know the answer- eliminate all the answers
