What are some fears/challenges/
concerns you have with using
technology in your classroom?
Why use Technology in
the Classroom?



Students take an active role rather than the passive
role of recipient of information transmitted by a
teacher, textbook, or broadcast.
The most common--and in fact, nearly universal-teacher-reported effect on students was an increase
in motivation.
Students are able to handle more complex
assignments and do more with higher-order skills.
“Effects of Technology on Classrooms and Students.”
United States Department of Education
Why use Technology in
the Classroom?
"Students who are college and career ready employ
technology thoughtfully to enhance their reading,
writing, speaking, listening, and language use. They
tailor their searches online to acquire useful information
efficiently, and they integrate what they learn using
technology with what they learn offline. They are
familiar with the strengths and limitations of various
technological tools and mediums and can select and use
those best suited to their communication goals.”

Language." English Language Arts Standards. Common Core State Standards Initiative

Choose one or more of the tech tools discussed,
or find a new one from our list
 Play around, discuss with a neighbor, and get
comfortable with the tool
 To consider:

 How
would you integrate this into a lesson?
 What obstacles might you face?
 How many different forms of technology can use this
tool? (phone, tablet, laptop, etc)
Our Turn
We created pre and post technology lesson
plans, all of which you can access through this

provided, please take 20 minutes to integrate
technology for feedback into your lesson
 We realize it’s not a huge amount of time, so do
your best!
 Upload them to http://bit.ly/1jm1Eq6 to share!
 We would love to have a wealth of examples
by the end of the summer, so feel to edit and resubmit later.

