Revelation of the Mystery
Now after John was put in prison,
Jesus came to Galilee,
preaching the gospel of the
kingdom of God, and saying,
“The time is fulfilled, and the
kingdom of God is at hand.
Repent, and believe in the
gospel.”

And the disciples came and said
to Him, “Why do You speak to
them in parables?” He
answered and said to them,
“Because it has been given to
you to know the mysteries of the
kingdom of heaven, but to them
it has not been given.”

“But blessed are your eyes for
they see, and your ears for they
hear; for assuredly, I say to you
that many prophets and
righteous men desired to see
what you see, and did not see it,
and to hear what you hear, and
did not hear it.”

known the mystery of the gospel

Obey the Gospel
• Power of God to save us
• The is a ‘Form’ of it we are to obey
• It is Jesus’ Gospel
• It should not be changed
• Death, Burial, Resurrection
• It is our response to this message
What is the Gospel ?
Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the
gospel which I preached to you, which
also you received and in which you
stand, by which also you are saved, if you
hold fast that word which I preached to
you—unless you believed in vain. For I
delivered to you first of all that which I
also received: that Christ died for our sins
according to the Scriptures, and that He
was buried, and that He rose again the
third day according to the Scriptures

What is the Gospel ?
• Good News
• Scriptures testified about it
• That is “Preached”
• “Received” by preaching
• Stand in it (Gospel)
• Saved by it (Gospel)
• Hold fast to it (Gospel)
What is the Gospel ?
• Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you
– Acts 2:22
• “Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and
foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have
crucified, and put to death

• “whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death,
because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
– Acts 2:24
• “He, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the
Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see
corruption.

mean ?”
But God be thanked that though you
were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed
from the heart that form of doctrine
to which you were delivered.
Romans 6:17

mean ?”
How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
Or do you not know that as many of us as were
baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His
death? Therefore we were buried with Him
through baptism into death, that just as Christ
was raised from the dead by the glory of the
Father, even so we also should walk in newness
of life. For if we have been united together in the
likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in
the likeness of His resurrection,

creature. “He who believes and
is baptized will be saved; but he
who does not believe will be
condemned.

“Most assuredly, I say to you,
unless one is born of water and
the spirit, he cannot enter the
kingdom of God.”

Have they all
‘Obeyed the Gospel’ ?
But they have not all obeyed the
gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who
has believed our report?”
Romans 10:16
What will be the end of those
who do not ‘Obey the Gospel’ ?
For the time has come for judgment to
begin at the house of God; and if it
begins with us first, what will be the
end of those who do not obey the
gospel of God?
I Peter 4:17
When Jesus returns ?
When the Lord Jesus is revealed from
heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming
fire taking vengeance on those who do
not know God, and on those who do not
obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
These shall be punished with everlasting
destruction from the presence of the Lord
and from the glory of His power, when He
comes
