“If the watchman sees the sword coming and
does not blow the trumpet to warn the people
and the sword comes and takes the life of one
of them, that man will be taken away because
of his sin, but I will hold the watchman
accountable for his blood.”

What is a Weekly World Watch?
The idea is simple. It is to look at current events and compare them to
events spoken of in the Bible. .
I hope to build up a picture of God’s hand working in the affairs of this world.
God is bringing about a day when all nations will be gathered to Jerusalem
to battle. At that time God will send His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, back to
this earth. Jesus will then establish God’s kingdom on earth.
This kingdom will last for ever. This is our hope and the reason we watch.
The following six themes will appear repeatedly in WWW:
• Israel: The continuing conflict in the Middle East and focus on Jerusalem.
• Europe: Its developing union, both political and religious.
• Russia: Its return to anti-Western ways as Bible prophecy’s “king of the
north.”
• The UK and the US: Bible prophecy’s “king of the south.”
• Moral standards in decline and violence on the increase.
• Increasing natural disasters: including earthquake, famine etc

What is in a Weekly World Watch?
Each WWW looks at a few key developments that have happened during the
past week. It is in no way meant to be exhaustive – just a look at those events
I saw as significant from a Biblical point of view.
Every WWW event slide has the following format. To reveal each block of text

HEADLINE
This is straight from a news report that caught my
eye because it looked significant from a Biblical
perspective, usually that of prophecy.

COMMENT The intention of the WWW is to offer brief Biblical perspectives without
going into detail. If more detail is desired, please e-mail me:

Israel 'on brink of third intifada' after new car
attack
Daily Telegraph, November 5, 2014
EVENT
A second car attack in Jerusalem, coupled with further confrontations at the Al Aqsa
mosque, have increased fears of a third intifada. Israel was feared to be descending
into a third intifada on Wednesday night after a police officer was killed and 14
people injured in a car attack, the second such incident in two weeks coming amid
continued rioting in Jerusalem's holiest places. A Palestinian member of the militant
group Hamas rammed a truck into a crowded light rail station, backed out and then
continued to drive, hitting several cars and injuring passengers and pedestrians on the
street. He got out of the car and attacked a group of civilians and police officers on the
side of the road with a metal bar before he was shot and killed. A Hamas statement
claimed responsibility and praised the "glorious operation" of the attacker, named as
Ibrahim al-Akri, 38, from the Shuafat refugee camp in east Jerusalem.
COMMENT Jerusalem is seething. Everyday this week there has been violence on the streets. The
trouble has been brewing for a while – it was trouble in Jerusalem that sparked the
recent Gaza conflict. What has happened since is that the Temple Mount area has
once again become the front line in competing claims to the city, pitting Jews
demanding to pray at the shrine (Temple Mount) against Palestinians who see that
demand as an attempt to cement Israel’s grip on a city they want to make their capital.
Listening to some residents in Jerusalem this week (Jew and Palestinian) it seems as
though the Jerusalem issue ie the who owns it, who controls it is now at the forefront of
everyone’s minds. There is a talk of a third intifada (or uprising). We may be very close
to Zechariah 12 being fulfilled. Zechariah 12 is about the “nearby nations” who burden
themselves with Jerusalem. This is stage 1 of the final conflict. Israel wins this war….
BIBLE
QUOTE
I will make Jerusalem like an intoxicating drink that makes the nearby nations stagger when they
send their armies to besiege Jerusalem and Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem an
immovable rock….They will burn up all the neighboring nations right and left, while the people
(Zechariah 12:2,3,6 NLT)
living in Jerusalem remain secure. This is a different war to chapter 14
Putin: World War III is inevitable
Valdai International Discussion Forum, October 29, 2014
EVENT
The following are excerpts of Putin’s speech delivered at the Valdai conference in
Sochi, just a few days ago. The speech was directed at Western elites.
“Russia will no longer play games with the United States and engage in back-room
negotiations… All systems of global collective security now lie in ruins. There are no
longer any international security guarantees at all and the party responsible for the
destruction of global collective security is The United States of America……Russia
does not wish for the chaos to spread, does not want war, and has no intention of
starting one. However, today Russia sees the outbreak of global war as almost
inevitable, is prepared for it, and is continuing to prepare for it. Russia does not
war, nor does she fear it…Russia will not close herself off from the world, but anyone
who tries to close her off from the world will be sure to reap a whirlwind.
COMMENT This speech was little reported in America or the West in general. We have tracked
BIBLE
QUOTE
down a video of the actual speech that Putin gave and checked the transcript of the
speech. The reason for doing this is that what Putin said in the speech is incredible and
worthy of note. They key point is that he said that Russia sees the outbreak of global
war as almost inevitable. He said they are preparing for it. This is exactly what the Bible
says will happen. Russia will prepare for world war and will in fact lead it. What Putin
also said was that anyone who opposes Russia will be “sure to reap a whirlwind” This
is a very interesting phrase! Daniel 11 says that the king of the north will come against
the king of the south LIKE A WHIRLWIND!! Putin is quoting this verse without even
knowing it. We can hear the venom in how Putin addresses the United States. We
really could be on the brink of global conflict the like of which has not been seen
before.
And
at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall
come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he
shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
(Daniel 11:40)
Tank column crosses from Russia into Ukraine
Daily Telegraph, November 7, 2014
EVENT
A column of 32 tanks and 30 trucks has crossed into eastern Ukraine from Russia, the
Ukrainian government says. The trucks were carrying ammunition and fighters, said a
military spokesman, but the BBC cannot confirm his report. A fragile ceasefire has been
in place since 5 September, although hundreds of people have been killed since then.
More than 4,000 people have died since fighting erupted in April after pro-Russian
separatists seized control in the regions of Donetsk and Luhansk. The European OSCE
monitoring mission has warned that the "bloodletting" is still going on, with numerous
incidents of shelling. Heavy artillery fire was reported in Donetsk city on Friday,
according to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.
Fears of a return to full-scale conflict were raised after the separatists held elections on
Sunday in defiance of Ukraine's government and Western countries.
COMMENT Last Sunday, the pro-Russian rebels held a controversial election, which led to
separatist leader Alexander Zakharchenko, being sworn in as head of the self-declared
Donetsk People's Republic. German Chancellor Angela Merkel's spokesman said on
Monday that Berlin found it incomprehensible that "official Russian voices" should
recognise this election. Russia’s answer to Germany’s incomprehension was to send
32 tanks, 16 howitzer cannons and 30 trucks of troops into eastern Ukraine.
Putin is gradually taking over a very significant piece of land. Eastern Ukraine was
definitely part of the territory of the ancient Scythians. Josephus (historian) tells us that
the Scythians were the same people as the Magogites. Ezekiel 38 says that Gog is of
the land of Magog. Gog (Russian leader) is taking over the last part of ancient Magog.
BIBLE
QUOTE
“Son of man, turn and face Gog of the land of Magog, the prince who rules over the nations of
Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him. 3 Give him this message from the Sovereign
Lord: Gog, I am your enemy! I will turn you around and put hooks in your jaws to lead you out
with your whole army
(Ezekiel 38:2-3 NLT)
Obama authorizes 1,500 more troops for Iraq
Reuters, November 6, 2014
EVENT
President Barack Obama has approved sending up to 1,500 more troops to Iraq,
roughly doubling the number of U.S. forces on the ground to advise and retrain Iraqis
in their battle against the militant group Islamic State, U.S. officials said on Friday.
Obama's decision greatly expands the scope of the U.S. campaign and the
geographic distribution of American forces, some of whom will head into Iraq's fiercely
contested western Anbar province for the first time to act as advisors.
It also raises the stakes in Obama's first interactions with Congress after his
Democratic Party was thumped by Republicans in mid-term elections this week. The
White House said it would ask Congress for $1.6 billion for a new "Iraq Train and
Equip Fund."
COMMENT The advance of Islamic State militants across Iraq has alarmed the West. President
Obama began sending non-combatant troops back to Iraq in the summer for the first
time since he withdrew U.S. forces from the country in 2011. Officials said one location
to which military advisors would soon travel was western Anbar province, bordering
Syria, where Islamic State fighters are on the offensive. Iraq's main military divisions in
Anbar have been hit hard. At least 6,000 Iraqi soldiers were killed through June and
double that number have deserted, according to medical and diplomatic sources.
Iraq of course is highly significant in the Bible. It is home of ancient Babylon. It is also
home of the very first kingdom. Babel mentioned in Genesis 10 and 11. There is a
section of prophecies in Isaiah that speaks of national burdens that affect the world.
They ALL have a latter day fulfilment. The first on the list is Babylon (Iraq). Iraq is
indeed a burden for the world. Other nations include Syria, Iran, Egypt and Israel!
BIBLE
QUOTE
The burden of Babylon, .….Hear the noise on the mountains! Listen, as the vast armies march! It is
the noise and shouting of many nations. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has called this army
together. They come from distant countries, from beyond the farthest horizons. They are the Lord’s
(Isaiah 13:4-5 NLT)
weapons to carry out his anger. With them he will destroy the whole land.
Iran nuclear program more advanced than
believed
Washington FreeBeacon, November 7, 2014
EVENT
COMMENT
BIBLE
QUOTE
Iran’s illicit nuclear program could be more advanced than previously believed,
according to new information released Friday by an Iranian dissident group that raises
new questions about what Tehran has been hiding from nuclear inspectors.
Iran is said to have built and still be in possession of two explosive chambers that have
allowed the regime to conduct advanced testing of nuclear weapons, according to new
information published by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), an Iranian
opposition group that has exposed Iran’s clandestine nuclear activities in the past.
While the existence of one explosive chamber has been known for some time, the
NCRI claims a second device could be hidden at Iran’s Parchin military complex, or at
another site somewhere in Iran. The claims raise new questions about the status and
extent of Iran’s nuclear progress as negotiations between Tehran and the West
approach their Nov. 24 deadline
It’s another crisis! The world seems full of them. Crisis in Israel, crisis in Syria, crisis
with ISIS, crisis in Ukraine. The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), an
Iranian opposition group that has exposed Iran’s clandestine nuclear activities in the
past made an interesting statement this week. “The clerical regime is ceaselessly and
secretly forging ahead with the military dimensions of its nuclear program and has no
intention whatsoever of abandoning that program.” The Bible says exactly this in the
same chapter already quoted reference Iraq. Isaiah 13. It says that God will stir up the
Medes (Iranians). It says they will shoot arrows (missiles) at young men. The Iranians
we are told cannot be tempted by money. How accurate the Bible is! See below…
Look, I will stir up the Medes against Babylon. They cannot be tempted by silver or bribed with
gold. The attacking armies will shoot down the young men with arrows. They will have no mercy on
helpless babies and will show no compassion for children.”
This is in the same chapter about the burden of Babylon (Iraq) The Iranian crisis came about at the
(Isaiah 17:17-18 NLT)
same time Iraq became a worldwide crisis (burden).
Germany 'would accept UK exit from EU'
BBC, November 3, 2014
EVENT
COMMENT
BIBLE
QUOTE
Chancellor Angela Merkel has reportedly warned David Cameron she would rather see
the UK leave the EU than compromise over the principle of free movement. Der Spiegel
news magazine quotes German government sources as saying she feared the UK was
near a "point of no return”. Chancellor George Osborne dismissed the story as
speculation about how Germany may react to a future UK policy shift. But he insisted
ministers would act in the national interest in addressing public concerns about
immigration. He told BBC Breakfast that concerns about abuses of the benefit system
were causing "great unhappiness" but the UK would approach future negotiations in a
"calm and rational" way. Mr Cameron wants to renegotiate the terms of the UK's
continued membership before holding an in-out referendum.
The German chancellor's warning to Mr Cameron is reported to have come in a
meeting on the fringes of the latest EU summit in Brussels last week. Der Spiegel,
quoting sources within the German chancellor's office and German foreign ministry,
said this was the first time Mrs Merkel had acknowledged that the UK's exit from the EU
was possible. The big issue for the UK is immigration. Many people do not see how
Britain can sustain the enormous of numbers of new people coming into the country.
Apparently David Cameron wants to ban migrants who do not have a job, and to deport
those who are unable to support themselves after three months. Europe will not allow
this. Europe’s project is one about recreating Babel. Uniting people who would normally
be divided by language. Creating one superstate under one religion. The Bible talks
about this. It says Europe is a beast with 10 horns. The UK may leave it one day.
“I will tell you the mystery of the beast with seven heads and ten horns on which she sits. The
beast you saw was once alive but isn’t now. And yet he will soon come up out of the bottomless pit
and go to eternal destruction. And the people who belong to this world, whose names were not
written in the Book of Life before the world was made, will be amazed at the reappearance of this
(Revelation 17:7-8 NLT)
beast who had died.
