Electronic Protocol Submission & Review
From poster presented at CTSA Biomedical Informatics
All-Hands Meeting, Bethesda, MD, October 13-14, 2010
Main modules
Core utilization tracking module





Main purpose: Support entry/management of core service
data by core personnel
Allows for tracking of CTSA as well as non-CTSArelated services
Fully integrated with core services entered via Census and
Protocol Tracking
Supports cross-core reporting by central administrative
staff
Assists in identification of protocols that utilized services
and comprehensive reporting of services utilized by each
protocol.
Main modules
CTSA Annual Reporting module

Supports collection of all data required for the “Annual Progress
Report” (APR) component of the PHS-2590 (non-competing
renewal), the only component that is submitted electronically.

Does NOT currently assist with other 2590 data (although it may in
the future).

For APR data: Checks data, generates and validates NIH-required
XML/PDF “bundle” for direct upload to NIH site.

Able to seamlessly pull data managed in other parts of WebCAMP,
such as investigator demographics needed for investigator roster.

Provides a centralized repository of data submitted from year to year



Allows for cross-year checking to avoid double-reporting
Makes data accessible for future needs, such as competing renewal
Provides additional tools for publication management and tracking.
