OBJECTIVES
HCMS’s main objective is to promote sustainable and participatory
development by empowering rural people, especially, women and youth
regarding economically and socially while protecting and preserving their
natural resources. The achievement of these objectives will lead us to do
the following:

• Strengthen & spread awareness about
homeopathy & their medical facilities
• To provide sustainable income generation & livelihood
activity to poor & disadvantaged people
• Empowerment of women & child through mobilization
& capacity building
• Promote agriculture as a viable income generating
activities using new technology with focus on cultivation
of medicinal & horticulture plants

SUPPORT TO TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT
PROGRAMME FOR WOMEN will be a success
programme.
It will upgrade the status of rural women and their
families.
Surveys has been conducted in the block, women has
low economic status, Illiterate or less educated.
This programme will provide training in Animal
Husbandry & organic farming.
According to the survey most of the families has 2 to 3
animals.
Each animal averagely gives 8-12 kg of milk every day
but in dry period approx 90days it comes to 3-5 kgs.

Society will guide these families and train them to
take care of their animals.
It will improve productivity, maintain animal health
and reduce dry period.
Train them to use animal dung to produce organic
manure which can be used in there crops or can be
sold out.
Waste of the crops will be used as the fodder for
animals which will enhance the quality of milk into
organic milk.
The cost of the organic milk is higher .
Society will help them to make there contacts to the
cooperative centers or dairies.

“Conclusion”








Society comes to the conclusion that STEP programme will
be a successful programme.
It will encourage and upgrade the status of the rural
families economically as well as socially.
Improve productivity, better animal maintenance and
milking capacity.
Production of organic manure.
Improves quality of crops.
Fodder for animals.
Increase in the cost of milk.
Linkage with cooperative centers and dairies.

INTRODUCTION TO STEP PROGRAMME



The SUPPORT TO TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT
PROGRAMME FOR WOMEN (STEP) aims to increase the selfreliance and autonomy of women.
Enhancing productivity and enabling them to take up
income generation activities.
Provides training for skill up graduation to poor and asset
less women in the traditional sector viz. agriculture, animal
husbandry, dairying, fisheries, handlooms, handicrafts, khadi
and village industries sericulture, social forestry and
wasteland development.

To mobilise women in small viable groups and make
facilities available through training and access to
credit.
To provide training for skill up gradation.
To enable groups of women to take up employmentcum-income generation programmes by providing

training and employment conditions of women.

40-50% : Big farmers having fixed assets in
the form of lands and milk giving animals.
30% : Small or Marginal farmers having fixed
assets in the form of small or big patch of land
and one or two milk giving small animals.
20-30% : Families below poverty line having
no fixed asset or animal & no permanent
employment in any form.

TARGET GROUP/BENEFICIARIES



The target group covered under the STEP
Programme includes marginalised, asset less rural
women and the urban poor.
The wage labourers, unpaid daily workers, female
headed households, migrant labourers, tribal and
other dispossessed groups, with special focus on
SC/ST households and families below the poverty line.
The block specified covers 500 beneficiaries.

Execution of the programme in the Bassi Block in four Villages









Per Day two batches will run with 25 beneficiaries each.
From Monday to Thursday – Theory, Friday & Saturday –
Practical on field for four Hours.
Twenty batches required for training 500 beneficiaries.
Teaching staff from nearby hospitals and related college.
Mentors from local village.
Trainers from local area.
Supporting women or families who have their own
livestock to develop small scale dairy.
Providing employment to women who are asset less.
Training for maintaining milk fat and inspection.

Future Benefits

The Director, Mr. Atul Gupta, believes that this
programme will help the marginalised, asset less rural
women and urban poor.

Wage labourers, unpaid daily workers, female headed
households, migrant labourers, tribal and other
dispossessed groups and families below the poverty
line will also upgraded.

The idea behind, is to encourage the rural women to
create their own livelihood.

