1.) Separated from the North Central Plains by the Caprock Escarpment on the east side, takes up most of the panhandle 2.) higher in elevation than North Central Plains or Coastal plains 3.) Bitter cold winters, summer cooler, climate much drier (further from the Gulf of Mexico), must use irrigation 4.) fewer people in this region 5.) largest cities: truly no large cities in this area (Lubbock & Amarillo) 6.) Natural resources: cotton, wheat 7.) Business: ranching , farming, 8.) landforms include: flat grasslands

North Central Plains: Facts

1.) Begins immediately to the west and north of the Coastal plains separated by the Balcones Escarpment.

2.) higher in elevation 3.) Colder in winter, hotter in Summer 4.) fewer people in this region 5.) largest cities: Fort Worth and Dallas 6.) Natural resources: cotton, grains, peanuts, fruits and veggies 7.) Business: ranching , farming 8.) landforms include: rolling hills, valleys, and grasslands

Coastal Plains: Facts 1.) Begins where Texas meets at the sea (Gulf of Mexico ) 2.) The biggest region 3.) Mild, humid climate 4.) Big population 5.) largest cities:Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Laredo, Corpus Christi, Brownsville.

6.) Natural resources: oil, cotton, rich soil, forest 7.) Business: heavily industrialized ports, business centers 8.) landforms include: barrier islands, flat, sea-level, rolling hills
