CAIN AND ABEL GENESIS CHAPTER 4

CAIN AND ABEL WERE THE FIRST TWO SONS THAT ADAM AND EVE HAD.

ADAM AND EVE HAD MANY, MANY CHILDREN AND LIVED FOR OVER 900 YEARS!

GOD USED THEM TO POPULATE THE EARTH. GENESIS CHAPTER 5.

Cain was born first. Cain was a tiller of the ground, this means he was a farmer.

Abel was a shepherd. He took care of sheep and animals of like nature.

God showed Adam and Eve and their boys the value of bringing a living creature for sacrifice to the Lord. Parents are commanded by God to teach their children about the Lord. Children are commanded to listen!

Ephesians 6:4

God was well pleased with Abel’s offering.

God was not happy with Cain’s offering. The Bible says that Cain was very angry with God’s response.

Cain chose to bring his best to God, instead of obeying his word.

What was happening within Cain’s heart?

Eph.2:8-9

The Bible says our hearts are very wicked.

Jeremiah chapter 17 verse 9

God sees our sinfulness.

Romans 3:23

God questioned Cain about the state of his heart and gave him a loving warning. If he would turn from his sinfulness he would be accepted. 0

Are we any different from Cain?

Cain rejected God’s kindness.

A wrong attitude produced a wrong action.

God knew what Cain had done, He gave Cain opportunity to confess his wicked deed, by asking what had happened to Abel.

Cain replied, “I know not, am I my brother’s baby sitter?” CAN WE HIDE NUMBERS OUR SIN 32:23 FROM GOD?

Cain was still not willing to repent.

God cursed Cain from the face of the earth.

Even then Cain complained about his punishment and felt sorry for himself instead of being sorry for his sin.

God is a God of love, but he must punish sin.

GOD SHOWED KINDNESS TO CAIN BY GIVING HIM A MARK, SO THAT ANY WHO FOUND HIM WOULD NOT KILL HIM.

HOW HAS GOD SHOWED HIS KINDNESS TO US TODAY?

Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. Heb. 9:22 Do we need to sacrifice animals to God today?

THE SON OF GOD WHO LOVE ME AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR ME.

GALATIONS 2:20

SADLY THE BIBLE SAYS: “CAIN WENT OUT FROM THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD.”

Who’s example will you follow?

Cain or Abel Gods way? Your way?
