DEVELOPMENT IN ASTRONOMY
Ancient astronomers
from the Middle East,
China and India had
made observations
about the movement of
the Sun, Stars, and
Moon
Ancient astronomer like
the Greeks had tried to
explain the movement
of planets and stars
Astronomy is the field of
study about natural
object in the sky.

DEVELOPMENT IN SPACE
EXPLORATION
Space exploration was
first done from Earth
with the use of a
telescope
DEVELOPMENT IN
SPACE EXPLORATION
Rockets, man-made
satellites, space stations
and space shuttles were
later invented to
continue the efforts of
space exploration

YEAR
DEVELOPMENT
1957
The world’s first artificial satellite, Sputnik 1, was launched.
Four months later, Sputnik 2, carrying a dog named Laika was
launched.
1961
Yuri Gagarin became the first person to orbit the Earth.
1969
Man first landed on the Moon.
1981
The first reusable manned spacecraft, the Space Shuttle, was
launched

SPACESHIP
Spaceship have been launched into outer
space to obtain various information.
Spaceship that carry astronauts are
launched by rockets into outer space.
SPACESHIP
A probe is a spaceship that does not carry
humans. Examples of probes are Voyager 2,
Viking 1, Pioneer 10 and Mariner 10
Space probes are launched to collect
information by taking photographs of our
solar system. Then the information is sent
back to Earth in the form of radio signals
and received on Earth through radio
telescope

SPACE STATION
A SPACE STATION PROVIDES A PLACE IN
SPACE THAT ENABLES ASTRONAUT TO
CARRY OUT RESEARH WHILE IN OUTER
SPACE
SPACE
STATION
THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE
STATION IS A SPACE STATION
WHICH IS NOW BEING BUILT IN
ORBIT THROUGH THE COOPERATION OF 16 COUNTRY
RUSSIA’S SPACE STATION, SALYUT
AND AMERICA’S SPACE STATION,
SKYLAB, WERE LAUNCHED FOR
THIS PURPOSE

ROCKETS
Rockets are used to launch objects like
spaceships or probes and satellites
ROCKETS
Rockets cannot be used repeatedly.
Today, the roles of rockets have
eventually been replaced by space
shuttles.

SPACE SHUTTLES
For example, the space ships
Discovery was used to launch a
satellite into its orbit.
Such a spaceships can be launched,
return to Earth and be used
repeatedly.
SPACE SHUTTLES
The space shuttles is used to carry
astronauts and researh equipment,
launch probes, launch satellites,
bring back or repair satellites that
have malfunctioned in space.
Nowadays, spaceships with rockets
have been replaced by space
shuttles.

SATELLITES
SATELLITES
A satellites is an object
that moves around
another object in a certain
orbit
The man-made satellite,
Suptnik 1, was launched
into space by the Russians
in 1957. since then,
hundreds of such satellites
have been launched
Man-made satellites
have been launched into
certain orbits to play a
role in remote sensing.

management
•Providing aerial photographs and electronic monitoring for military purposes
•Detecting nuclear tests in spaces
THE NEED TO CONTINUE SPACE
EXPLORATION
To expose the secrets of Earth, the
planets and other space objects that
have remained unknown all this
while.
To search for new settlements for
humans on the moon, other
planets or in space.
To obtain minerals like aluminium,
potassium, magnesium, and iron
found on the Moon, other planets or
asteroids.
To study the setting up of power
stations in spaces using solar
energy. The solar energy obtained
can then be sent back to Earth.
Penutup

2. Tasbih Kifarah.
