About the Speaker
Sue Ellen Patterson is an
experienced, engaging provider of
research-based professional
learning. She provides training
to assist school systems in
implementing best practices
related to curriculum,
assessment, and instruction and
is currently conducting CCGPS
trainings across the state.
She has 25 years of experience in education as an
elementary and middle school teacher, as an elementary
building administrator, and as an ELA regional
consultant for Georgia’s system of Regional Educational
Service Agency. She is a certified trainer for Thinking
Maps, Using Data to Lead Change (SREB), COMP Vanderbilt University, and Learning Focused (part-time
consultant). She has spent her professional career
pursuing her love of education through on-going research
and study of effective teachers and teaching principles,
including Understanding by Design, Rigorous
Curriculum Design and The Leadership and Learn Center
conferences. Sue Ellen lives in Athens, Georgia.
