WHAT DOES ETERNAL SECURITY
MEAN?
When a person is saved are they saved
forever?
 Will God take away someone’s salvation?
 Is there any sin that can cause one to be
lost after they have been saved?
 Can a person backslide on the Lord?
 How does a person really know they
have been saved?

SALVATION IS STRICTLY THE ACT
OF GOD BY GRACE
Ephesians 2:8-10-For by grace are ye saved
through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift
of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus unto good works, which God hath before
ordained that we should walk in them. (KJV)
 Romans 11:6-And if by grace, then is it no more of
works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be
of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is
no more work. (KJV)

IS SALVATION CONDITIONED ON
VIRTUOUS LIVING?
 Romans
3:28-Therefore we conclude
that a man is justified by faith without
the deeds of the law. (KJV)
 Titus 3:5-Not by works of
righteousness which we have done, but
according to his mercy he saved us, by
the washing of regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy Ghost; (KJV)
What does Eternal Life
really mean?

John 3:16-19 (KJV)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the
world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that
believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not
believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the
world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because
their deeds were evil.

What is the assurance one
is saved forever?




John 10:28-And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall
never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Romans 8:38-39-For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor
life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present,
nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other
creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which
is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (KJV)
1 John 1:9-If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive
us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV)
1 John 2:1-My little children, these things write I unto you, that
ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the
Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: (KJV)
What happens when a saved
persons sins?


Brings displeasure to God: 1 John 3:1-2-Behold,
what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon
us, that we should be called the sons of God:
therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew
him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and
it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know
that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for
we shall see him as he is. (KJV)
1 John 3:9-Whosoever is born of God doth not
commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he
cannot sin, because he is born of God. (KJV)
How does God respond when
a saved person sins?




Chastised: 1 Corinthians 11:30-For this cause many
are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. (KJV)
Hebrews 12:6-For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth,
and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth. Vs. 8 If one
is not Chastised they do not belong to God.
Removed: John 15:2-Every branch in me that beareth
not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth
fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

I Corinthians 5:5-To deliver such one unto Satan for the
destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the

How is Salvation kept when we are
sinners by nature & by choice?



Ephesians 1:13-14-In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word
of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed,
ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of
our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the
praise of his glory. (KJV)
Ephesians 4:30-And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are
sealed unto the day of redemption. (KJV)
Romans 8:27-30-And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the
mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according
to the will of God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good
to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to
the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he
called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Does this mean we can live
anyway we choose?





John 3:3-Except a man be born again he can not see the
kingdom of God. (KJV)
II Corinthians 5:17-Therefore, if any man be in Christ,
