Review 1. Jesus has been preaching and ministering in God’s authority and power in the region of Galilee.

4. Extremely large crowds have begun following Jesus; enraged pious Pharisees have begun to form an alliance with ungodly Herodians.
5. We highlighted the pressures Jesus was living under in His Kingdom work and how He navigated them.

Again he began to teach beside the sea. And a very large crowd gathered about him, so that he got into a boat and sat in it on the sea, and the whole crowd was beside the sea on the land.

And he was teaching them many things in parables, and in his teaching he said to them:

“Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow.

And as he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.

Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, and immediately it sprang up, since it had no depth of soil.

Matthew 13:12-13 “Whoever has will be given more, and he will have abundance. Whoever does not have even what he does have will be taken from him. This is why I speak in parables: ‘Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.’” John 17:7 “If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.”
