
DragonDrop is a complex system that
supports a large range of functionality

Some features are not so well known or even
documented… Until now.

Once you know what to do, you can easily
avoid or troubleshoot some common
problems in DragonDrop… Knowing is half
the battle!

Uploading a compressed file bundle is a handy means
of getting a group of files into DragonDrop

Must use a .zip archive file

Must use a folder to contain all files

Must have an index.html file

This will be primarily useful in publishing:
▪ some HTML pages that will not need to be updated
▪ multi-file Flash presentations
▪ files to be distributed

DragonDrop uses a dedicated Silverlight
media player to play Windows Media
(.wma/.wmv) files

DragonDrop uses a dedicated Flash media
player to play Flash Video (.flv) files

Using the HTML <iframe> element, these
players can be made to appear on any web
page (even yours!)


The iframe src attribute must contain both:
▪ Link to DragonDrop media player
▪ Link to Windows Media content

Find the email address for your phone
▪ For example, Verizon provides users with a email
address like [email protected]

Add this email address to your Notifications
list in the Options tab

Notification emails from DragonDrop will
now be sent to your phone when jobs are
complete



DragonDrop tracks user roles
Most users are authors; a special few are admins
The primary benefits (currently)
▪ assume the identity of any user in your organization in order
to act on their behalf
▪ search across public and private playlists, and their media
objects
▪ aggregate media objects to a playlist from private playlists

Should you be granted the admin role?
Let us know!

DO NOT upload files over 2 GB in size—this will cause
the upload to fail! Be aware how big your files are!

Use Firefox 3, IE 7 or Safari 3; other browsers may not
work as well, and Firefox 2 in particular has be known to
have problems uploading files

Avoid using special characters in file names (i.e., %, -, :)

Make sure your network connection is robust enough
(dial-up not recommended) to handle large uploads

Encoding failures are not uncommon, as
transcoding between formats can involve
different encoding applications, audio and video
codecs and file format types.

If you receive a message from the system
informing you that an encoding has failed, try:
▪ uploading the source file again to attempt to re-encode
▪ checking to make sure that your source file is not corrupted
▪ sending an email to [email protected] requesting help

We like killing bugs dead

We can’t fix the problem if we don’t know
about it!

Report any problems you encounter in the
web application, or related to any other
aspect of the DragonDrop system to:
[email protected]

Update your browser periodically!

Complex web applications, like DragonDrop


Best experience in:
 Firefox 3
