Triage agreed by Police
YOS Police to check screen every morning and arrange for appointments to be booked in via office duty. (YOS Police to contact Admin at Commercial Road to arrange this.) Police to contact YOS admin at Commercial Road direct to arrange Triage appointment via Office Duty. Police to update their systems. YOS admin to book in Office Duty Diary and inform Office Duty of appointment.
YOS police to print out JW screen in preparation for Triage appointment. Victim details to be passed to VLO
Triage Appointment via Office Duty
•Explain Triage process again to ensure young person and parents understand. See guidance on YOT/Core Business /Triage •Office duty to meet with young person and parent. Complete Triage screening tool. Make sure that a restorative approach has been taken around the offence analysis.
•Explain to family what happens next.
•Triage Screening tool to be completed electronically and saved in YOT/Core Business /Triage under the young persons name and emailed to the Restorative Justice Unit.
•Office duty worker to complete any necessary referrals. This is to be done electronically and a copy attached to the Triage Screening Tool.
•If young person fails to attend Office Duty to contact YOS Police and notify of failure to attend. (YOS Police then arrange Reprimand)

•Contact victim by telephone •Outline process •Discuss restorative options •Complete victim contact paperwork •Feed information back to Office Duty Worker / Restorative Justice Unit

•Actioned within 2 working days.

•Notify YOS Police of outcome.
•Letter sent to young person and parents informing them of outcome.
•Outcome passed to VLO •Close
