What are Credits?
Each semester course is worth ONE
credit
If you do not pass a course, you do
not earn the credit.

Block Scheduling
Center Grove High School operates on an
8-Block Schedule
7 classes and a study hall meet every
other day.
Students have an assigned STAR (student,
teachers, and relationships) class. Meets
30 minutes every day.

Regular

Honors/Weighted Scale
Honors courses require significantly higher
academic achievement and work levels.
Provide for grades earned to be weighted for

their incoming 9th grade students

Student Course Requests will not be changed
after May 1, 2014
Schedule Change Policy
Students will not be able to drop any course unless the
request meets the following criteria:
need to meet high school graduation requirements
need to meet college entrance requirements
need to balance over-crowded classes
an error in computer entry
late staff changes
Requested changes related to teacher assignments,
lunch assignments, and class periods. etc. will not be
considered.
Students who in enroll in year long courses are
committing to the course for both semesters.
What is 21st Century Scholars?
Indiana program for 7th and 8th grade students to apply
for scholarship money for college.
Acceptance is based on family income.
Once accepted you remain in the program through high
school as long as…
Remain drug and alcohol free
Remain from criminal activity
Maintain a 2.5 GPA in high school
Complete application and return with your schedule.
