Time Management Tips for Personal Life

• • • • 1. Get yourself a clear goal for your personal life; 2. Keep a detailed schedule of what you need to do when you're not working; 3. Keep your to do list, appointments, phone numbers and notes on a paper or in an electronic organizer; 4. Keep some time to catch your breath;

Time Management Tips for Personal Life

• • • 5. Stay focussed; avoid procrastinating; 6. Work on your personal goals each day. 7. Exercise, meditate, give back to the community develop your human and social side;

Time Management Tips for Personal Life

• • • 8. Give yourself a deadline for each goal; 9. Keep your goal in site: put a picture or a quotation that has a direct link to your goals. The more you see it, the sooner it will come true; 10. Get everyone in the house to pitch in with the house chores. Get someone else to mow the lawn.

Time Management Tips for Work • • • 1. Keep your work environment clean; 2. Don't let piles of paper take over your desk, file it or loose it!

3. Keep focussed; When you think of something you should do while working on another project, write it down on your "to do" list to get it out of your mind;

Time Management Tips for Work • • • 4. Take some quiet time during the day and don't answer the phone (if that's not an integral part of your job) to get ahead in your work. Make sure you return each call in a reasonable delay!

5. If you communicate by emails at work, create your signature with your company name, title and telephone number. That way, you only click on one button to have your signature appear at the bottom of your message instead of writing it two dozen times a day.

6. Avoid personal calls during office hours.

Time Management Tips for Work • • • • 7. Make the phone call you despite the most first thing in the morning. You'll reduce your stress level and will spend a better day.

8. If you are invited to a meeting that has nothing to do with your job, advise the person that you won't go; 9. The opposite is true: Invite only the relevant people to your meetings; 10. Eat a light lunch without alcohol.

Time Management Tips for Students • • • 1. Make sure you have read your assigned readings before getting to class.

2. Active listening. When you're in class, concentrate on the course. Taking notes will help you stay focussed. It is very hard to concentrate for three hours in a row but do your best not to let your mind go wondering off.

3. After class, read your notes and make sure your notes are clean and clear enough for you to understand them when you prepare for exams.

Time Management Tips for Students

• • • • 4. Participate in class. Ask questions on points you are not sure of.

5. Read the chapter that the professor will talk about in your upcoming course.

6. Integrate your homework into your schedule, evaluating the time it will take you to complete it.

7. Make sure you eat right, get enough sleep and exercise. This will decrease your stress level considerably.

Time Management Tips for Students

• 8. Make a balanced schedule for yourself. That also means that you should not try to cram 3 courses in a day to get Friday off. Two courses a day is ample. Instead of your third class, make time to study for four hours that day. You can usually work for two hours and take a break (enjoy some personal time to get your energy back).

Time Management Tips for Students

• • 9. First, make a monthly schedule of all you have to get done for each course. Then, make a weekly and finally a daily schedule and break down each item into tasks.

10. Make sure you study at times when you have the most energy. If you're not sure of your prime study time, try studying at different times during the day and notice when it is easier for you to concentrate for longer periods without getting tired.
