Vaiyavruttya
• Bird Feeder Project- selfless service with senior
citizens project.
• Christmas in Action – selfless service of
repairing senior citizen homes.
• Hospital Volunteer Work – youth have dedicated
up to 25 hours weekly for this activity.
• Service in the Derasar – from serving food to the
general public, and to assisting in setup for
large scale activities.
Anashan
• Atthai – youth participation in fasting for 8 days
– Several youth in our community have
performed fasting for long durations
• Ekasnu/ Beasnu – youth participation on a daily
basis beginning at age of 4
• Limitation of Eating Out / taking vow to not eat
certain foods.
– This means no Taco Bell! Even, if it is Jain.
Swadhyay
• Youth practice self study during bi-weekly
sessions at the derasar.
• Youth prepare and perform Snatra Puja and
Asthaprakari Puja during Mahavir Jayanti and
Diwali celebrations
• Youth practice and perform stavans and
stuties for annual competition.
• Youth participate in essay contests to
express the real world application of Jain
Dharma
