Guidelines for Remaining in the Academic Common Market (ACM) or
Reciprocity Agreement Programs at WVU

To remain in the Academic Common Market program or Tuition Reciprocity
Agreement program, a student must remain in good academic standing (2.0 or
better GPA) and meet the WVU standards for good academic progress toward entry
into the major and completion of major program requirements. Once a student has
been admitted into an ACM program he or she must follow the same guidelines to
remain in the ACM.

If a student is on probation (less than a 2.0 GPA) or is not making progress toward
entry into or completion of the approved program, the student will be removed
from the ACM/Reciprocity program and charged out-of-state tuition.

First-year freshmen (only) who do not meet GPA and academic progress standards
will receive a letter of warning at the end of their first semester. If progress has not
improved by the end of the 2nd semester, the student will be removed from the
ACM/Reciprocity Program for the following term.

At the end of each term a follow-up progress audit report is completed for each
ACM/Reciprocity student. Students, who do not meet GPA and academic progress
standards, will be removed from the ACM/Reciprocity Agreement program and outof-state tuition will be assessed in subsequent terms.

If academic progress is not being made, notification will be sent to the student’s
home and or MIX account concerning their ACM/Reciprocity status.

Students who change their major or defer entry into the program must obtain a
new certification letter from their ACM State Coordinator. Students who change
their major during the semester may be charged the out-of-state tuition rate for
that semester, if the major is not an approved major.
