Verification of Information for Institutional Recommendation (VIR)

After midterms during the student teaching semester, an email will be sent to all student teachers. This email will contain a form called the Verification of Information for the Institutional Recommendation, or the VIR.

 The VIR is an information gathering tool. This information is used to augment the process of creating the individual Institutional Recommendations.

 When you receive the VIR by email, check it for accuracy, complete it , hit the respond button on your email, and return it right away. Please don’t wait to return it because you don’t have all of the information requested. Send it with what you know or have. Include a note explaining what (if anything) you are missing.

 Failure to return the VIR may result in slowing down the process when you submit the Request for Institutional Recommendation.

Because we love and care about our students and because we want to aid them as much as possible, we have taken the time to create this system to help them more easily maneuver through the certification process.

However – we ask that you remember that certification is actually a post graduation activity. Please take the time to read through all of the materials and instructions that we have created and posted on our web page. If, after doing so, you have any questions that remain unanswered, please email us with your questions.

Since Sister Frongner is the certification officer for BYU – Idaho’s education students, please address your questions to her at [email protected]
