This Is My Life
By Tad Pole
Birth
• I was born on a chilly day in
April. The pond which would
be ny home for a few weeks
was small but cozy because
there were many many of my
brothers and sisters who were
also born with me. We
immediately began to swim
around with our very long and
powerful tails. Boy, there was a
lot of traffic in that pond. .
Early Life
• Tadpoles live in the water for
the first part of their life and
breathe through their gills.
They are born with long tails
which become shorter as they
grow older. The tadpoles grow
front legs first as their tails
become shorter. Eventually, the
back legs grow and their tails
disappear. They also start to
develop lungs.
Adult Life
• The adult frogs loose their
gills but keep their moist
skin. They can breathe on
land and in the water. In
the spring, the adult
female frogs lay eggs in
the water and the cycle
starts all over again.
Conclusion
• The life cycle of the frog,
an amphibian consists of
the egg, tadpole and adult
stage. The first two stages
are in water and the adult
stage is on land.
Amphibian means land
and water living.
