Sheep!!!!!

• Over 7.8 million sheep in the U.S.

• Provide average of 1.7 lbs. meat and 0.8 lbs. of wool per person • Raised where other animals cannot be (climate or food availability)

• Efficient in converting feed to meat • Different breed for different purposes

Goats!!!!

• Low importance economically • Prefer to eat twigs and leaves • Mohair is hair taken from angora goats and is used to make a wooly fabric

Unfavorable Factors • Price for wool changes • Consumption not as common • Cotton and other materials taken place of wool • More susceptible to parasites • Can be killed by predators easily
