• ADFIMI is a non governmental initiative among
National Development Finance Institutions (NDFIs) in
Member Countries of the Islamic Development Bank
(IDB) to establish solidarity among NDFIs in all
aspects of development finance.

• It is one of five such institutions in the world
established under five major regional development
banks.
•Established in 1986 as an autonomous international
organization with its headquarters in Istanbul,
ADFIMI is commemorating its 21st Anniversary this
year.

•57 members in 19 countries
• ADFIMI basically provides training to its
member organizations in all aspects of
development finance
• already trained over 1500 officers and senior
executives of its member NDFIs.

ADFIMI also
• Provides R&D in Development Finance
• Serves as a global forum on development.

Administrative Set up:
• The General Assembly is the Supreme Body
of the Association in which all powers
necessary to accomplish the objectives of the
Association are vested
•The General Assembly meets once a year.
• ADFIMI is governed by a 9-member nonresident Management Committee
•Secretary General is the CEO of the
Association

• The Association is supported by membership
fees, by voluntary donations and by cosponsorship of its members
• Subscription fees are based on NDFIs
assets.

• Promotion of cooperation and networking
among members in all aspects of development
financing.

improvement of members' human resources and
institutional development
• Conducting research on development financing,
promotion of innovation and dissemination of
best practices among members.

•ADFIMI members attend its Annual General Meeting concurrently held
with the Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group
• Executives thus get the opportunity to meet the IDB Executives and
Governors of Central Banks and Finance Ministers
• Each CEO gets the opportunity for a one-to-one meeting with any
organization and of forming strategic alliances
•They further become acquainted with the most recent developments in the

• Members are entitled to free access to research and development work carried
out by ADFIMI on various issues related to banking, trade and investment
• ADFIMI is a member of World Federation of Development Finance Institutions
(WFDFI) along with other associations formed under other regional development
banks and members can make use of this facility
•There is a prestige and credibility attached to being a member of a Regional
Association and ADFIMI membership provides such a prestige

MEMBERSHIP PROCEDURE
1-A cover letter signed by the CEO of the institution declaring the
interest to become a member of ADFIMI
2-Sign the Memorandum of Agreement
3-Fill in the Questionnaire
4-Provide an audit report or the annual report of the institution for the
year immediately preceeding the year the application being submitted
5-A document showing that one time membership fee and the
subscription fee for the first year has been deposited into the ADFIMI’s
