Values and beliefs about EfCCNa
• There is a need to strengthen the profile and visibility of Federation
among critical care nurses
• EfCCNa can be a very powerful organisation that can influence policy
nationally in Europe. However, more effort and time from all the
parties involved is necessary to keep unity and motivation. Good
planning and communication among the members will help to reach
the set objectives. Also the committees involved in EfCCNa should
be more productive and follow a strategic plan that has been
approved by the board
• Mutual respect toward each other despite the cultural differences,
during board meetings, congresses and in all communications
• Learning from each other and our different experiences
• Respecting language barriers and awareness of difficulties in hearing,
speaking and writing in English
• Our differences and culture are a strength which we should embrace
• Expectation that Council members represent their national association
and they will be active participants in discussions and in developing the
EfCCNa vision
• The goals of the federation can only be achieved trough the input and
commitment of active representatives
• The perspectives of each representative enriches our understanding of
critical care issues within Europe
• Truly embracing our motto Working together-achieving more
My association benefits from being part of
EfCCNa because
• It is important for nurses in my country keep in touch with the
developments in the field and in other countries- being part of
EfCCNa makes this possible. It offers us the opportunity to
participate (and even to organize) international research. There
are also benefits for progressing and improving critical care
education and/or standards.
• Nationally, it helps nurses promote the vision of the future and
make sure that they are in accordance with European
directives. By participating our association has the chance to
act as a force to built and shape this vision and identify our
weaknesses (education, workforce, research) and how to
improve these
• Participating international surveys, taking part in exchange
programme, creating international networks, meeting each other in
the meetings and congresses, as a large association EfCCNa can a
influence national agendas
• From exposure to a larger group of critical care nurses and
opportunities to work collaboratively
• From the rich diversity of ideas and networking that takes place as
well as the sharing and exchange of information and other learning
resources
• Have increased understanding of the healthcare challenges faced
by critical care healthcare workers
• Having a stronger voice through our collective numbers
